Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLocation is excellent, but the traffic noise from the street below can be too much. If you stay there, definitely take earplugs with you. And the main street-entrance door keypad entry system is making mistakes. Sometimes you have to punch in the code 40 times (yes, 40X) to work. Frustrating! But overall, it was a good choice for us!

MaltaThe room is clean and rather comfortable however it could do with some sprucing-up. It was probably refurbished a few years ago and is now getting a little bit tired. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean and had good water pressure in the shower. We did not take much notice of the common area that's shared between the two rooms but some sprucing-up is in order too. The common area staircase etc really needs to be painted and tidied up.
Our main reason for our visit to rome this time was a concert at circo massimo therefore we wanted accomodation which was not further than a 30 minute walk away. Our flight was delayed and we arrived very early in the morning. I emailed the host who promptly replied giving me clear instructions how to get into the room and that was excellent. The location is great too, just across the river tiber with castel sant'angelo just a few minutes walk away. The main sights of Rome are no more than 40 minutes walk away. Room was reasonably priced too so we did not expect any frills or luxuries.

United StatesThe apartment is next to the hospital and a major road, so you'll be hearing ambulance sirens all night long and loud cars bikes, people coming drunk from partying so if you're a light sleeper this is a big no. Also the lock on the room itself is a pain in the ass to open, the key just wobbles inside, can't imagine trying to open this while drunk, or if you have mobility issues.
Location from 10 to 25min walk to everywhere you wanna visit, Vaticano, Fontana di trevi, etc.

BulgariaThe location is very good for sightseeing but extremely noizy and imposible to rest during night or day. No extra blankets and it was very cold. We were told the heating was automatic but the tempreture was no more than 18 - 19 degrees inside which is not enought for my taste.
The check in was easy and it was clean.

United StatesUnless you’re absolutely set on this location, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. While it appeared clean at first glance, the space was in need of a deep clean. The sheets had a musty odor, as if they had been left damp for days, and the shower had noticeable black mildew in the grout lines. I also encountered two unidentified bugs—one inside the bedside drawer and another behind the nightstand. Overall, the cleanliness and upkeep left much to be desired.
The location was good, WiFi was great.

GreeceBad host. Not clean. No value for money. The host thinks that he can charge 120€+ and that's okay because others in Rome charge 200€+... While the apartment is jn terrible condition and looks like that the manager hasn't been there to see it for a long time. I could write lots of things more but it just isn't worth it. I will also put a 2* on Booking App because they should be ashamed for putting such a bad apartment on their lists.
Good location.

MaltaNo communication. I received message one day after from the property.
Actually i couldn’t stay there because I couldn’t contact the property until 16:30 pm. So I needed to call the customer support. Thankfully they helped me and cleared things up. The property was not available. Customer support suggested me another place where was very far from the center. I was already at the center and picked this place for the location so didn’t accept it and needed to book another place last minute and i lost alot of hours with that and going one place to one place with my staffs.

GeorgiaUnfortunately I wouldn't recommend it. Fortunately, other reviews informed us of the loudness.... overall, this place is overpriced, dirty, badly equipped, old sheets... a little effort could go a long way... Sad to see a place with potential being managed and decorated so badly... see it for yourself...

IsraelThe place was absolutely dirty. Sticky dirty floors with urine smell in the bathroom, you can't even flush paper in the toilet and barely anything passes. Window was cracked, towels were moldy and the contact was nowhere to be found. When we got there there was no one and no message on how to get it. Had to call the guy 10+ times to get a copypasted whatsapp message with our key location. Never helped or replied with anything, and he asked for city tax money we had ALREADY paid to booking! He is a scammer!

United KingdomCould have done with another mirror - there was only one small face mirror in the bathroom above the sink. A full length one for the bedroom would have been helpful.
Great size room and the location was brilliant - very short walk away from the vatican and right next to Travestere neighbourhood which was so nice for outdoor/backstreet drinks and dining. Walked everywhere from this hotel. Bed was quite big for a double and comfortable. For the price, it was perfect.

NetherlandsBed was incredible uncomfortable. Room is next to a busy street, the window does not block any noise at all. Traffic noise is so loud during the entire night that it just sound as of the cars and motorcycles drive right next to your bed! The only reason we were able to get any sleep at all is because my wife thought to bring some ear plugs. Terrible!

United KingdomIt is basically a flat in an apartment block (which includes two private and fully lockable ensuite bedrooms plus a shared kitchen) so there is no signage outside. You have to pick up the key from a dropbox arrangement, for which you are given a code. But this wasn't explained to us in advance so we arrived at the address with absolutely no idea how to get in, or which property we had rented. Luckily we were able to get the owner on the phone, who then texted info on how to obtain the keys and where to go, but it would have been much easier and less anxiety-inducing if he'd given us this info in advance.
The location is excellent, and the accommodation is great. It is next to a busy road, which runs between the property and the Tiber, so there is a lot of road noise, which didn't bother us at all, but some people may have a problem with that.
