Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesExcellent location at foot of Rialto bridge + 25m from water-bus stop. Excellent helpful staff. Clean. Good-size room. Special thanks to front desk staff SEP-4 afternoon for rebooking train despite rail strike thereby avoiding a disasterous + expensive impact to our holiday.

United KingdomNeeded more electrical sockets. There was just one. A kettle would have been nice to make coffees in the room
Location. Staff who were very attentive. Air conditioning. Complimentary water taxi to the island of Murano which was a nice surprise. It runs every half an hour. Fabulous view from our windows as we chose to pay a little extra for a canal view. Well worth it as it was so entertaining to watch the busy canal in operation.

AustraliaSurely staff are aware that the first room they gave us was a dud :(( Annoying that we had to pack up and move and then porter waited around for a tip even though this was our second move. I would advise to do water taxi to get to hotel with luggage.
The first room they gave us 308 had the air conditioning blowing straight onto us in bed and I awoke with a terrible cold. Next room they moved us to was a dream compared to the other. Nice bathroom and amenities. Great location and staff thankfully understood about the room.

AustraliaDoor lock was broken and not safe and the safety deposit box was broken too. It made me uneasy to go out, especially when it did not get fixed after contacting reception.
The central position of the Hotel and view over the Rialto Bridge is superb.

United StatesEven the things that I didn’t necessarily like, kind of added to the charm of the place. My room was tiny, but functional and I wouldn’t want to change it, it was so cute. The bathrooms are like beautiful and obviously remodeled from the original. The shower is very narrow. Like I didn’t half to but it was more comfortable to stand sideways while showering! Another thing to note… again it added to the charm;) my room was on the fourth floor. So I wouldn’t take the elevator up and then I walked down a hall and down a steep set of stairs and then to my room. Which made it feel like I should just be on the third floor, but no access to the room from the third floor. So not all rooms are accessible with out navigating some stairs. They had a bell hop who brought my bags up to the room for me and probably would have helped me take them out too if I asked.
Perfect location, easy to get to and to get to everywhere else. My room overlooked the bridge and river! Stunning views. Also… excellent AC which was so appreciated during the hot hot days. All the staff are super friendly and helpful and remember who you are. Everything about this place is charming. Also is in such a busy area and I heard no sound from the street unless I opened the window. The wall paper is old school and cool and like the walls feel padded, which I think helped with the sound. I think I heard my neighbors door close twice and that was it.

AustraliaThe bed and pillows were not the best. The bathrooms were poor especially in one of our two rooms where it was also so small and badly repaired and maintained with a very dated 1970's style makeover. I know the hotel is very old but that is no excuse as friends we were travelling with stayed at a boutique hotel across from us on the Grand Canal which was as old but had recently been fully and beautifully renovated and was about half the price,
The location of the hotel as well as our rooms at the front of the hotel and the view from our two rooms. However, this was reflected in the price as without that the rooms themselves were not worth anywhere near what we paid.

South AfricaThe rooms are in urgent need to be updated. The hotel layout is not convenient The property has so many floors and mid floors and sooooo many stairs. You can take an elevator to a floor, but then still has to go 2 flights of stairs up or down to your room. You are not allowed to use electrical equipment with more than 500W in your room. Which means no iron, no hair utensils of more than 500W, etc
The location is stunning. One of the best views in Venice. Staff was wonderful.

United StatesThe rooms are pretty small, and dated. Our room didn't really have any natural light, as it was a side room and the windows had metal shutters.
You can't get a better location than Hotel Rialto. It's in the heart of the city, and an easy walk to most of the main attractions. The area is definitely crowded, but we personally like the lively atmosphere. The breakfast was great, with seating right in front of the Rialto bridge.

United StatesThe only thing that I think could be improved is that the section we stayed in could use some fresh paint and a few repairs but the room was good and had a fantastic view of the canal.
The hotel was centrally located so we were able to walk to everything. There are restaurants located right outside the door so you don’t have to go far to find food.
