How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay. Angela helped us with the booking and with questions we had prior to arriving, and Vera, who was on-site, were great hosts. Vera met us on arrival and was available when we had questions. The apartment was spotless and comfortable. The apartment is one floor up and there is a lift, but we used the stairs, except to bring our luggage up and down. Security is terrific as you need a key to enter the lobby. There is no living room, but it was a moot point for our purpose. All we needed was a kitchen and a bedroom, which were both decent sizes. Free wireless network was available for us to log onto, which was handy. The neighborhood was safe, quiet, clean and had plenty of bars (cafes), a grocery store, restaurants and shops nearby. The location was perfect for our needs. It was a short walk (Under 10 minutes) to Bari Vecchio, the train station, Via Sparano, Teatro Petruzzelli, parks and so much more. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We would definitely stay at the Residenza Principe Amadeo again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others

Verified reviewThe apartment was very well located to walk to the shore front and the antiquities.
The information said parking was on site. It wasn't, it was in a public car park about 6/8 minutes walk away. Parking outside the apartment to off load suitcases was a bit of nightmare as the road is so busy and parking spaces were few and far between. We were given a discount from 20e per day to 15e per day but the charges at the car park were not pro-rata so we were charged 15e per day despite not keeping the car in the car park for 24 hours. Misleading. I did a lot of research before booking and the room we were allocated was not at all like in the picture. The reviews were all good - we were very disappointed. It said an inner courtyard view - basically roof tops full of cigarette ends, very overlooked. We had to use the light all the time, with the curtains pulled, to afford privacy. We were not advised that the persianas were electric and only discovered this the day we left. Using the microwave or kettle was precarious because of the location of the plugs. I had to use my phone torch to be able to see to plug the appliance in as there was no lighting in that area. The toilet was constantly running and the bathroom was quite dated. There was a used bar of soap in the shower cubicle. There was no plug in the kitchen sink. Had there have been a washing up bowl that wouldn't have mattered so it wasn't easy to wash up the crockery and glasses.

I'm sorry you didn't understand that the shutters are electric,but if you had asked me I would have explained it to you as well as ,I could have solved the problems of the sockets or the basin in the kitchen. as regards the parking I would point out that you chose a residence in the center of the city,that the proposed parking is located two blocks from the residence,that the hourly parking on the street costs 2 euro for 1 hour. we gave you a voucher and everything is written on the voucher. I don't understand so who would have cheated and on what I'm available to customers 24 h a day, I send messages..... Angela

Verified reviewLovely location, walking distance from most of the places we wanted to see, including the bus stop from and to the airport. Very spacious, excellent choice for 6 people! Very clean, fully equipped (including welcome snacks, drinks and coffee) and gorgeous balcony. We really enjoyed our stay!
Not the property’s fault, but parking might be an issue if you’re not lucky enough since there are paid street parking options. The property was irreproachable.

Secure and modern apartment building with a lift.The host allowed us to check in a few hours earlier which was fabulous . I would definitely recommend this apartment.
There is a step in the bathroom that you step up onto to get into shower,;can be a tripping hazard if you forget it's there as the tiles are the same colour as the floor. Other than this there was nothing wrong

For check in host ask all family line up and each person should show passport or ID card (including child). She made picture of each document. She was showing on her phone other guest's pictures (as a proof she is asking to everyone). I don't think it's correct procedure for check in (usually just main guest shows ID) and for sure it's against GDPR to show other's guest pictures. Host didn't provide information how long she will keep our ID photo on her phone. Do not feel safe.
Respond to complaints from guest who ignore the rules thAt regulate access to accommodation facilities in Italy According to law n.15 of 7.8.2006 failure to register guests triggers a report to the public prosecutor's office. Article 109 of TULP states that even minors must travel with an identity document with them. Maybe the lady has never entered Italy if she allows such an unflattering judgement on those who checked in and asked that the rules be respected. It would be appropriate for booking com to also clarify that, not leaving the hoste alone to deal with this problem,host who is often attacked with such unflattering judgement Angela

This comment is surprising because we worked hard for our guest. the receptionist,Nini,personally went to pick her up on the street because she was lost and couldn't find where the residence was. we also called the men who made reservation for her and l ,with booking com message,sent him a reassuring message when her finally found the lady. Before leaving,the lady thanked receptionist for kindness and now someone,certainly not the guest, allows herself such an arrogant judgement.....
