Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWalls are quite thin and you can hear everything else going on in the other rooms or bathroom. There’s no curtains in the room so the light will wake you up if you’re a light sleeper.
Super central, right next to the train station in Venice. Great view. Room was comfortable and had air conditioning. Bathroom is shared but was clean.

United KingdomIt is not that I did not like it, is just the share bathroom on the corridor that was a bit for me. In rest everything was fine. Worth the money I paid. The receptionist was really friendly.
It was in a quiet place and in front of the building was a restaurant.

United StatesNothing really but if you are looking for a more fancy place, this is not it. It has a lot of character for being such an old property but it also needs some updating.
We got to the property after walking for a few minutes from the train station. Location was perfect. The guy that did our check in was very nice and he showed us our room, which was on the 3 floor and we shared the bathroom and kitchen. The property seems to be very old and a bit run down but the friendly staff and great location made up for it. We walked to the supermarket that is a 2 min walk across one of the channels and came back late from walking, location is very safe and quiet. Views from the window were amazing, facing a beautiful garden full of flowers and birds. Property has code system to get into the main door and flat area, also very safe.

United StatesAC did not work in any of the rooms. There were bugs, including mosquitos and small bugs in the rooms. Beds were not very comfortable
Close to the transportation center. In a quiet area. We were able to get 8 people in to stay for a decent price. The gentleman at the desk was extremely friendly. Shared bathroom was generally clean. Fine for cheap accommodations

Czech RepublicIf there are more people accomodated, the bathroom can get busy, so its just good to keep that in mind, but not a big problem.
I liked the bed mattress firmness and the sink in the room so that one does not have to wait for brushing teeth. The location is perfect, calm and close to train statiom with easy access. Reception is very nice and open long. Even with a cat:)

GermanyThe only disadvantage is that the toilet and shower room are in the same room and this is for three hotel rooms with 3-4 people. Probably to whom as lucky, but if each of the rooms decides to take a shower and dry hair, then you can long wait for your turn to the toilet
Everything is as on the photos, clean, close to the station, the staff is polite.

we stayed in the loft/attic and had plenty of space. two single beds in a seperate room (albeit not closed off) and then a double and fold our couch to comfortably sleep a party of 5.

KazakhstanThe air conditioner was extremely old making too much noise, impossible to stay in the room with air conditioner switched on, you have to open the window and then you spend the night with mosquitoes... ((
The room was clean and the location of the apartment in the city was good, in an old Venice structure

North MacedoniaFinding the place! What could have been super easy turned out to be super complicated. The location set in Booking's application is WRONG. So that's why the gps took us a whole hood away, on a very hot day under the sun walking for.35 minutes in vane with 4 kids, including a baby. Thank God I have a perfect knowledge of the Italian language so few very nice Italians helped me (it took asking at least 6 locals), or I would NEVER have found the property. The host was actually a nice person but couldn't help me much on the phone either. I would never want anyone to have the same experience so let me help you peeps: so look at google maps for the directions to the IL VECIO POZZO osteria (restaurant), NOT for the address provided which is INCOMPLETE hence MISSLEADING, which is a huge issue in a historic town with the smallest streets in the world, a town on water that looks like a labyrinth. Second issue was the hygiene of the place which was poor. Last but not least, the value for money. Super overpriced! You spend almost 300 euros per night, recieve incredibly poor value for your money. If you want a decent hotel, this place is not for you. Be prepared to pay at least double per night to get that in Venice. Or I would say, skip the overnight in Venice!! You can stay in a town near the train station that is maybe 1 hour apart from Venuce, so you can pay 5 times less. But don't skip Venice itself because it's one of a kind.
If you're first time in Venezia, or even first time in Europe, yes, you can be quite shocked of quite a few things there, this guest house and the town itself. However, since I was frequently visiting Venice in the past 20 years, provately and professionally, let me tell you that indeed this property has a lot of positive aspects that are very hard to find in Venice: great QUIET location (super rare for.Venice), 22 minutes walking to Rialto Bridge and few more to San Marco Square. Only 5 to the train station (the reason I picked this house in the first case). Amazing restaurant right in front.of the house. The locaton can be a really autenthic experience, allowing you to feel the true spirit of Venezia, without the MAD tourist crowds. But would I come here again? NO, NO, because it's lousy value for money (WAY overpriced, and the hygiene is simply not enough not even for 30, so let's immagine for 300 euros per night). And let me tell you about that gmaps pin of the property which is WRONG ON BOOKING'S APP! (See below) On the positive note, the host letting us leave our stuff (a baby stroller and few backpacks) for 3 hours past check out at the reception. Grazie.

CanadaEverything was good apart from this limitation explained above
We are not really demandibg about our expectation.Only one thing is not good and this is limitstion that last moment to get back to building in the evening no later than 10 o'clock pm.After 10pm it is not possible to enter the building because the door is locked. I am not soldier in training but a tourist.I will never get back because of that.
