Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAlthough the shower had great water pressure, the drain backed up rather quickly while showering.
Monica, the host, was beyond helpful! She walked me through check in process seamlessly and was available to answer any questions during my stay. Additionally, she allowed me to leave my bags after checkout and met me later in the afternoon to collect them. She even gave me extra snacks and water for my walk to the train station. For those travelling by train -- Vescovo station is closer than Porta Nuova by about 20 minutes walk. The location was easy to find. The room met expectations; bed was super comfy and the room had AC. Breakfast included coffee, tea, fresh juice, yogurt, cereal, a croissant, toast with marmalade, butter, and cream cheese. Overall a great experience. Would book again.

United KingdomBed and pillow were a bit hard and not the most comfortable. In the chilly northern Italian winter, the room was quite cold; air con is present but of course placed high up (hot air rises!); there is a small heater in the wardrobe, but I thought it best not to leave it on overnight, and woke feeling chilly in the small hours. Basically a few more blankets would have been useful. Breakfast (left in the room for you) is quite limited - hard, rusk-like bread with a bit of jam; corn flakes; a Babybel cheese. It would be nice to have a proper pastry and some soft bread. The coffee machine, which you need to use to make your breakfast cappucino, was out of order and couldn't be repaired as it was a weekend; there was another machine but it only made espresso. This also meant there was no way to dispense hot water, so I couldn't use the several tea bags that had been left; it would be helpful to have a kettle in the room. Bathroom door once accidentally locked itself from the inside when I closed it from the outside, so that I couldn't get back in; had to use room key as a lever to re-open door! None of these issues was disastrous, but together they made this a bit less pleasant than it might have been.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Having supplied a likely arrival time of 2-3pm, I was called a little earlier in the afternoon and warned that the normal member of staff scheduled to welcome me couldn't make it then and giving me a phone number of a colleague I could call on arrival. A member of staff also called me personally via the land line in my room to apologise for a problem with the coffee machine (see below). Location was good, on the far side of the Adige close to a couple of historic churches, the Giardino Giusti and the smaller Roman theatre, and an easy stroll to two of the bridges across the river to the town centre. Room was very clean.

South AfricaThe coffee machine ran out of water a few times before I could have my coffee!! I guess others drank lots of coffee!
The place is beautifully situated. A short walk and you're in the hub of the action. The most important sites to see are nearby. It's in a quaint area. The host was great.

United KingdomJust make sure you get the permit if you park the car in front of the property or It might become a target of a local sport amongst the not really nice neighbours: rotten eggs tossing. The owner, Monica, doesn’t have any responsibility of it, of course. But just don’t forget to ask for the permit, like I did. No problem, I spent 1 euro at the car wash and the car was clean again dear nice neighbors.
I might be biased (Verona is my hometown) but I loved every second of my short stay. The property is in the heart of my favorite part of the town, north of the River Adige, where every corner tells a story. The breakfast was really nice. A tasty and fresh croissant delighted my morning. Monica is a fantastic host and she has great taste!

Germanythe equipment comes to an age maybe some renovation is needed for the single room. I was there during weekend and satuday the bar down the road close to the window just have party till 2 oclock... so it can be noisy
The host is very nice and gave me great restaurant suggestions. The room is cosy and it is located 5mins walk to the ancien roman bridge. Through that bridge you are directly in the center of Verona. The decoration is old but it has a historical flair. I appreciate the coffee machien directly in front of my door. so i can take coffee whenever i want. the shower works very good and it is clean.

SwedenFirst, the location based on google map is totally wrong. It's the building behind the bar-bistro. It took me a while to find the right door. Second, it's next to a bar-bistro. I was in my single room on the first floor and the window faced to the bar. Even during the week days, it's very noise during the night. So if you are sensitive to the noise, need to be aware about this.
Very good location, closed to all main tourist points. Clean and comfortable bed.

NorwayThere is free parking in the street outside the hotel, but not reserved for guests. When we arrived we really struggled to find parking in the surrounding streets (Sunday afternoon). The hotel kindly gave us a parking permit so we had a lot more options, and that was greatly appreciated.
Great service, comfy bed. Didn’t realize breakfast was included, so that was a bonus. The breakfast is a little basic, but filling and great before you leave to explore the city.

PolandI am sorry to say that there were some neglected details: like a bathroom light that did not work, you had to force the buttons on the TV remote control, and the shower was clogged. The decoration could be renewed. For breakfast they asked me to go to the coffee shop on the corner -which was no problem for me at all- but it only included a coffee and a croissant and there was almost no space to sit.
Well located and friendly staff. It is an historic building and that gives quite an athmosphere! Although I did not use it, the little fridge is a good addition to the room.

United KingdomThis isn't really something I didn't like but is just info for other solo female travellers. If you follow the signpost to the residence you walk down a very quiet street that almost feels like an alley way and a couple of times there were people just kind of hanging around there. It didn't seem like a bad area but as a newcomer I wasn't sure so I found it better when coming home at night to stay on the main street and walk through the little courtyard between 2 bars which avoids the dark 'alley' and you arrive almost at the door of the building. The courtyard is well lit and full of people so that felt safer to walk through for me but that was simply a personal preference as the little street seemed fine in the day time.
The location was easy enough to find, I was sent good directions and there is also signposting as you get closer to the location which helped. I didn't have any contact with the staff, everything was done by Booking.com and What's App messages with a key-lock box and code to access the premises and my room but this all was very easy and worked well. My room was very comfortable for a single with a good sized wardrobe, plenty of space for bags as well as a desk & seat where you could have breakfast. The included breakfast was simple and enough - pastry, bread, jams, yoghurt and there was plenty of juice and water provided in the fridge. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. I was alone but felt secure in the building and location. The location was very good, only 10 mins walk from the historic central part of town. I would stay again.
