Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt did feel overpriced after fee's and having to pay for an additional luggage storage. Probably could have got a different hotel that would have held our luggage for the price we ended up paying.
Great location, comfortable room.

United KingdomShower could have been a bit more powerful. The edge of the bed jutted out at the bottom and had to be avoided in passing.
The apartment was in an excellent location and close to attractions. The room was a good size and very clean. The little terrace was very cosy and relaxing. Excellent value for money. The building was amazing.

United States3 floors of stairs!!! As a senior it was too hard with for luggage. The step up to the toilet was an impediment and the generous shower could have used a grab bar. We were very cautious.

TurkeyNot having an elevator at 3 floors up is a bit exhausting particularly when having big luggages.
Room and building is rather old, however considering the amazing location and general structure of Venice, the room does the job. Clean toilets and a stone building.

AustraliaThe neighbour woke us up numerous times trying to unlock the toilet door - it was extremely loud and very frustrating. The shower was mouldy and needs a scrub also. The air con also didn’t keep up with what we needed.
Nice and roomy, great location, had everything we needed.

CanadaRemember these rooms are not hotels and don't mention there are no elevators in these locations especially for these prices, so it is hard for older people to drag the suite cases up 3 or 4 flights of stairs.
Fairly good location a short 7-8 min walk to the tours I wanted to take, dodge palace, Rialto bridge and the main cannels lots of good restaurants all within a short distance because there are no taxis on the narrow streets.

UkraineThis was indicated in the description, but it just turned out that it was very inconvenient when you have to go through a common corridor to go to the toilet and shower. I emphasize that this was indicated in the description but it is just not entirely clear how it was implemented.
The room is good, with good furniture. Wonderful terrace, but shared with neighbors. Excellent location, 15-20 minutes to the main attractions. Responsive owner.

AustraliaWe had no contact at all with the owners, except via text messages. There is no breakfast supplied, although there is a coffee machine and kettle provided. Our room was on the 4th floor, and we had to lug our bags up and down. Not a problem if you are in your 20's, but when you are closer to 70, with asthma and a bad back, not easy at all.
The room itself was very clean.

South AfricaWifi was terrible. Floor was slippery, coffee machine right outside door making noise and no milk. Bedding a bit old. Bathroom window does not have a dark curtain therefore early morning the light is shinning directly onto the bed. Roof has got water stains. Not alot of windows. Feels like you are stuck between 4 walls. Didnt look like the pictures. No modern feel.
Good location. Close to Coop super market. Walking distance to restaurants and Dodge's palace. Clean. Nice size bathroom.

AustraliaRoom at top of 3 flights of steep challenging stairs. No lift. Would be impossible for elderly, unfit or disabled persons. No staff on-site. Difficult to contact owner who was not able to assist when I called him for directions. Spoke very basic English. Insisted on communicating by Whatsapp. I was given no warning of this until we were struggling to find the room . This could have been explained at the time of booking. Tiny frdge in room. One table no spaces for luggage. No jug for boiling water. Told NOT to bring foodvin room. Again would not suit people with medical conditions or young children. Very inconvenient as breakfast not supplied
Located close to facilities like shops, cafes, restaurants etc 10 - 15 minutes walk to Rialto San Marco etc Room very basic but acceptable, considering I booked very late +:90% of the accommodation was booked out. It was peak season +++ Very good coffee making machine with all provided except no milk. Small shared outdoor area to sit + chill out Good bathroom and shower

BelgiumThere is no lift and apartment is in the 3rd floor. Stairs are old and worn out. We were given a room which did not have an attached bathroom. We had to leave the room to use the bathroom. The bedroom had no mirror. The furniture was worn out and old. Basic cutlery or plates were not available. There no washing machine as it said in the booking website. Incomplete Check-in instructions.
Right in the centre of many water transport stops. Very accessible to various parts of Venice. Has many places to shop and buy souvenirs. Had many restaurants around the area at close proximity. A laundromat near the apartment was useful

United StatesI was not a fan of the private bathroom down the hall. Having to sneak out at night to use restroom or in the morning to take a shower. Other rooms had thin doors, and I could hear them, but luckily had good quiet neighbors. It was up a lot of stairs. Not handicap accessible. Priceline books through booking.com and doesn't coordinate well with Booking. Make sure you use booking.com Listed as a B&B, but doesn't include the breakfast.
Location was amazing. Close to the Rialto Bridge. Short walk to St. Mark's Square. It was right in the thick of things. Lots of nearby restaurants. Price was decent compared to the rest of Venice.

United StatesImpersonal: Even though I set up a time to check-in, it was all "automated" so I never met the proprietors or any staff. Shower, though typically small for EU, could be better in terms of water pressure and cleanliness. Toilet and sink were a tight fit, even with large bathroom. Free espresso machine was tricky to figure out and dispensed subpar coffee. Room had dining table and chairs but a note to not bring food into the room.
Large room with table and chairs, decent-sized closet, and nice-sized bathroom. Location near Campo Santa Maria Formosa is great...but a little loud with the foot traffic and narrow walkways (quiet at night, though so easy to sleep). Bed was very comfortable. I traveled for work so was able to get things done during my stay in the room, even though the WiFi was a little on the slow side.
