How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Wifi was shocking
Host was excellent, very welcoming. Rooms were well laid out and comfortable. Kitchen is small but perfectly usable. Location was central to a lot of the sights of Parma. Beds were comfy and bathrooms lovely. Nice mix of modern and traditional.

The communication initially was a little concerning. I kept the guy informed of our eta but we were struggling with strikes and had a 4 hour journey turn into a 6 hour journey. Initially he was understanding but Our ETA ended up being wrong, and we were 10 minutes past the time and he told us that he doesn't stay past the deadline. After some begging, we had him stay the extra 10 minutes to give us the keys and he was very nice, but gave us a bit of stress at the beginning if you are looking to check in after 7pm.
The location was fantastic- truly everything was pretty much on our door step. The food was amazing, people were friendly and the place was really clean.

It was very central. Location was great. Francesco was really nice and check in was easy. The accomodation had everything you needed. We really enjoyed our time there.

- if you have car, the nearest car park is 10 min away from properties.

The room is in a great location, it's super clean and, very important in winter, it was very well heated. So, it was very pleasant. Picking up the key was quite simple: Francesco was there at the exact time we had agreed on. So everything was perfect.

Perhaps a small kettle or some coffee will do fine
Great accommodation at the very centre of Parma. Very clean and quiet area. Francesco (I guess the owner) was very nice with us. I will highly recommend the place.

WiFi was not consistent, mainly worked when near front door only.
Very centrally located. Train station was 15 minutes away to one side and less than that to old historic city to the other side. Host Francesco and mother AnnaMaria were easy to communicate with and very sweet. Got a 10% off coupon to nearby restaurant, a few feet away, which was nice and food was good.

Just be aware of the dark corridor leading to the apartment. Not a problem but difficult to find the door locks at certain times of the day.
Very good location, very modern finish. Nice extra touches. Francesco was helpful.

This is a very good appartment offering privacy and a top location to start your sightseeing. Francesco (our host) is very friendly, was flexible with check-in and out, offered nice tips to enjoy our stay in Parma.
