How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The problem was that the rooms are too close to one another and they is no soundproof. So, it was quite loud during the day even early in the morning with the stuff cleaning the other rooms.That was the only negative part of our stay, but other than that it was really great!!
The ambience of the room and the location is perfect. Everything is in walking distance The room was cleaned every day and the free water supply was ideal!

The lift scared me so we used the stairs. Great for getting your steps in but very lacking in light switches!

Only criticism was there were no sockets at the bedside tables.
Beautiful room, bright airy and well designed. Good quality bed, bedding and soft furnishings. Beautiful modern bathroom. Great location. Staff were contactable by WhatsApp and any questions I asked were replied to promptly.

They had a really strong perfume throughout the whole building which worsened allergies We were the apartment at the front of the building which meant it was noisy when people were coming and going
The location, modern and clean room, had a filter water tap, balcony to sit outside.

It would have been great to have a couple of pillow options. Both pillows were very firm, making it a bit uncomfortable.
The property is spacious, newly renovated and in a great location!

Only the entrance to hotel which was very old and has no reception but when we reached to our it was completely difficult and surprisingly 5 star hotel

Our time at the Residenza was outstanding, exceptionally clean, modern and had anything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect to head in any direction in Florence. The refrigerated water fountain and having pitchers filled in the room was an excellent touch. I hope we are able to return in the future!

Location. Modern room in an authentic Building.

Our room was stunning! Quality fixtures in main room and bathroom. Host was super helpful too. Fresh, cold, filtered water was also available in foyer whenever needed.

Room a little on the small side. Staircase could be better lit.
Fabulous location right in the centre of the city. Excellent host who met us out of the taxi gave us Great recommendations during our stay and had excellent communication skills throughout our holiday. Room was excellent quality. Decor high standard bed comfortable beautiful bathroom.

The room is very very small. I know a lot of properties in Florence our small but this was by far the smallest room we stayed in across France and Italy.
Very good central location. Everything seemed to be a short walk away from the property. The property was well maintained and looked to be recently renovated.

The room is located in the heart of Florence, a few minutes walk to any of the must-see locations. And although central, it is very quiet. The room is designed exquisitely with enough space light and air conditioning, a very convenient bath room, very comfortable bed, and espresso machine. The only thing that is missing is a “lobby” :-). The hosts were very attentive and informative over the chat. We had a great time

The elevator is really small. But who
Everything; the amenities, the location to great food and all of the attractions are within 10 minute walking distance. The room smelled amazing as well. Every time to walk in you feel relaxed. A nice restaurant is across the street. A laundromat is next door. They even scheduled a taxi to take me to the airport when I checked out.

Bathroom was small and there were only small packets of shampoo (vs. shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles). We ended up buying small toiletries ourselves.
Great location, walkable to all the main attractions/restaurants. Staff are friendly, responsive and helpful. Room was exactly as described and the bed and pillows were super comfortable! They sent a great video of how to enter the building and room for self check-in, as we didn't arrive until around 11pm. Would definitely recommend!
