The location is perfect. Not far from everything in the historic center. The place is nice, the rooms are clean and you can opt for breakfast that are served in a place the other side of the street with the city best view.

Everything was great. Maybe the kitchen could be equipped a bit better if you need it, but the basics are there - I did not use it.

Very nice place, well located walking distance to visit Matera. The host is very nice, the building and room are very nice. Good shower, good beds. Good value for money. You can park for free in the street where the hotel is.

The family room was a bit on the small side and didn't realise that we were not supposed to use the kitchen if we were only staying for 1 night.

Loved the breakfast - the food was lovely and the breakfast restaurant has the most amazing view ever!! Location was good for Matera sights but it was quite a walk from the railway station.

Of course, Matera is a remarkable place and this small hotel is in the very heart of it, fifty yards walk away from remarkable view across the cave town. The room itself was carved into the rock and the public rooms were very striking - although dark. A big bonus is the chance to have breakfast at a smart hotel across the road with an outdoor space which also overlooked the town. Matera itself is truly remarkable - the archaeological museum is wonderful, too, and almost deserted.

We made our booking based on having a suite with two rooms. Two beds in one room and an additional bed in the other. When we arrived we were given one room with three beds. One of the beds was extremely uncomfortable and the staff would not accommodate us with either a change in rooms or a change in the bed.

Its kind of hard to get here by walking from the new part of Matera where the busses are but perfect for anyone with a car or using a taxi, which I highly recommend. Otherwise, walking from here to the Sassi is steps away.

We enjoyed our stay in Matera, this is a great location for seeing the Sassi. This has to be the largest room we have stayed in in Europe. The bathroom is just the right size and the hosts are very nice people.

Words can't express how much we loved this hotel. It is small and charming and close to everything. We elected to have breakfast, which was actually served at the hotel across the street. Breathtaking views of Matera. Everything was wonderful. Will stay again!!!

It was unbearably hot in the room (36°C at night) and there was no air conditioning—only a device that was noisy as hell and did not cool . I couldn’t sleep at all the entire night, and the bed was uncomfortable. On top of that, the receptionist only spoke Italian.

The breakfast was charged separately as 10 Euro per person and served at another hotel across the road with a beautiful view. We did not take the breakfast as a family with 2 small kids as we found the price too much for the kids. The room we had was pretty dark with only 1 window looking out the back and against a slope to a street/carpark. The furniture and facilities are pretty dated and there is no internet.

Great location from where you can stroll to the Sassi in 5 mins and by just crossing the road, you already have a perfect view of Matera. Very friendly owner.
