How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Be prepared that you need to go up two flights of stairs before you get to the evaluator. It was not a problem for my wife and I. But leaving our room one day there was gentleman with cane that was really struggling getting his luggage up and we helped him. He was so appreciative.
Great location and very nice room. We would stay there again.

I guess everyone will say the first flight of stairs, but Lucio was there to assist as soon as I made it to the lift, and he made everything so easy from there.
Lucio, the staff member from reception, is the biggest asset of the property; super attentive and helpful. Room full of character, comfortable and clean. Right in the heart of town.

Air Conditioning didn’t work very well, it was quite warm in the room with the AC on all the time, especially the loft.
Great location, phenomenal staff, and super impressive interior. Essentially everything was a 10/10 but the AC was not good.

Elevator is only from 2nd floor so we had to get our luggage up and down using stairs.
Excellent location, great staff, spacious for our family of 4 (it was actually 2 floors within a room, which our kids enjoyed!). Just next to the Duomo! All the major Piazza’s were nearby.

They advertise a elevator from first flor. We were ond second flor with baby stroller and it wasnt available for our flor. The staff made us go to third flor with stroller and luggage, then back to seckond flor. We could have just gone to room, where he could take pictures of our ID. In the bathroom you dont have an satisfactory place to hang towels. The shower floor is little bit slippery, our toddler fell.
The staff was nice. Location is great. You can see the duomo. Sound isolation from outside is great, you can barely hear the church bells and traffic. You get snacks and water.

We absolutely loved it here! The wonderful gentleman at the front gave us a bottle of wine and was so nice helping us and scheduling our taxi for the morning. Our window literally looked out to the Duomo!

The only thing was when the card was not inserted into the slot, the fridge was also turned off. We were fine with AC was but we wanted the fridge to be turned on all the time.
Location was perfect. We could walk to everywhere we go. It is city center and located in a lively area but not really loud at night. The room is compact but we have everything needed and it was a comfortable stay. We really appreciate the recommendation for food and places to visit from one of the staff and it was super helpful. We enjoyed our stay in this property and we would definitely stay here again if we visit Florence again.

It is excellent. A very good choice for our family.
The location was extremely convenient for sightseeing and walking to tour Florence. The reception was very accommodating and wonderfully informative and helpful. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Perfect for our family of 4.

Guests should be aware that there are quite a few steps to get up before getting to the elevator. Could be tricky for those with lots of baggage or accessibility issues.
Incredible location. Right downtown near the cathedral. Staff were very friendly and helpful with local recommendations. Room was bright and comfortable with a view out over the cathedral. We would definitely recommend and would stay there again!

There is a very unpleasant sewage type of smell in the foyer everytime leaving or entering the building.
Very friendly staff. This accommodation is located within the heart of the city and is perfect walking distance to everywhere. We were celebrating our honeymoon and our room was nicely decorated for us which was a personal touch. The staff provided us recommendations on food and local spots. We loved it here.

Beautiful classic Italian apartment building right near everything, comfy bed and good quality sheets. Amazing windows with views, super tall ceilings, modern bathroom. The girl at the front desk, like the other reviews have described is probably the most helpful person in Italy. She gave great recommendations for a restaurant and helped me figure out how to get to the tram to the bus to go to Siena. The only issue was that it was a bit noisy on a Saturday night, but it was a Saturday night by the Duomo, so that’s kind of to be expected and not a complaint and it wasn’t that bad. My daughter is just not used to being in a city.

Staff was amazing. There was a train strike, while we were in Italy and the staff went above and beyond to help us get to Florence. They also let us drop our bags early and gave recommendations for food. Location was perfect. The air conditioner was great in the middle of summer. Would stay here again.
