Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MexicoThis hotel is in an excellent location in the peaceful town of Massa Lubrense, offering a perfect getaway from the crowds. The room features exceptional views, with a spacious balcony overlooking the ocean, Capri, and the Bay of Naples, providing a stunning panorama. It's conveniently located just 15 minutes from Sorrento and only 5 minutes to Bannio de Regina. The breakfast served was delicious and satisfying. I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to family and friends for a relaxing and scenic stay.

United StatesCan't think of anything (10/10). This place far exceeded our expectations.
Room was amazing with a huge terrace / balcony and sunset views. Even the bathroom had a side view of Capri Island. The decoration was beautiful and location excellent. While not in Sorrento, this location was close enough and only 5-7 min by car/taxi to downtown Sorrento. We chose the location because we were able to make use of the local public parking that the hotel gave us a pass for and therefore use our rental car (something impossible to do in Sorrento). Breakfest was amazing with fresh fruit, fresh croissants (cornetti) filled with fruit, cream or chocolate, eggs, espresso every morning. The restaurant were breakfest is served is incredible and also available for dinner. (Seeing many tourists and locals come to the restaurant for the excellent food and views at night and knowing that it was just a few steps from our room was a huge bonus.). If you are looking for a great place to stay with a rental car and/or just outside of Sorrento, don't hesitate in booking Relais Pennino. (Another huge benefit is that the hotel and restaurant are run by the ever present owners which were extremely kind and always available.)

United StatesWe loved the location in Massa Centro, the view, the sunsets, the breakfast (Natalia is awesome), the balcony, the sounds of the roosters and the church bells! We really enjoyed the concerts in the piazza. We felt like locals not tourists. The room wasn't fancy but very clean.

United KingdomBreakfast was taken on the terrace and was lovely. The room was large and airy and there was a view of the sea from the window. The restaurant attached to the B&B had terrific, uninterrupted views over the sea and to the islands. The food was lovely and B&B guests had 15% off.

United StatesThe staff felt like family. They run the restaurant and the hotel. Every morning breakfast was outside at the restaurant with fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, delicious fresh pastries, eggs made to order and cappuccino or espresso. We ate dinner there two nights (15% discounts for guests) and the food and service was excellent. Seriously, it felt like home the way they greeted us each day. The view from the restaurant outdoor seating was spectacular. We stayed in the room at street level that had opaque glass doors that opened onto the sidewalk. However, there were very thick, heavy doors inside that could be closed at night the blocked out the light and all noise from the street. We slept like babies! Also, the location is 50 meters from the bus stop and bus to Sorrento comes every 20 minutes for 2 Euro. We had a car that we were able to park for free just up the street with a parking pass that was provided. We loved staying outside of Sorrento on this smaller town. It was peaceful with a beautiful view.

United KingdomIt would have been nice if there were a kettle & tea/coffee facilities. Fridge was not functioning well. Lighting was very dim. But none of this had a major impact so we did not mention it.
Breakfast was lovely & fresh. Hosts were very helpful, organising our boat trips to Capri & Amalfi, plus taxi to airport. Their restaurant was superb also. Our terrace was incredible & the sunsets over Capri seen clearly from the balcony are etched in our memories.

United StatesWhere do I even begin.. just WOW. I am still dreaming of this place. You are in a timeless villa style building that is right in the absolute center of Massa. We had the deluxe double room which came with a gigantic balcony (loungers, table and chairs, sunbrella, everything.) The room was HUGE - it has an internal spiral staircase with two single beds up on the loft. The main floor has a comfy queen bed. Bathroom was perfect (and a window with a view of Capri). Having the balcony is a game changer, the sunsets were magical, mornings were peaceful (you can here roosters coking in the distance). All with a view of the ocean, mount Vesuvius and Capri! We couldn't believe it. Breakfast was very convenient and delicious. Eggs any style, bacon, salami, cheeses, fresh veggies, fresh fruits, decadent pastries ( the canolis and crossants were unreal, and omg the tiramisu). The espresso was the best I ever had anywhere in Europe (Ive been everywhere). We even brought our own Rose and prosecco to breakfast to start the day right. The restaurant itself, il Cantuccio, is top teir (farm to table) we did dinner there one night and it was incredible. It is really famous and they have another il Cantuccio in Nerano. All the staff were amazing! Natasha is a superstar and manages the whole property. The owner was great (forgot his name) he even coordinated our airport taxi pickup with a service that we also used to go back. To check-in you need to go down to the restaurant which may be inconvenient if you have lots of luggage. Send one person down if you're a couple, or leave your stuff (its very safe around there). The sign for the restaurant isn't obvious, but if your facing the main entrance of the building its to your right at the end of the road by the public balcony view point. The best part is you are right at the bus station and can go ANYWHERE for $2 euro - Sorrento (ferry to Capri, Nerano, Positano, etc.) Im still dreaming of this place...

United KingdomThe room was facing the main road. There were some nights that had a lively atmosphere so got a bit loud at times but nothing too unmanageable.
The room was clean and spacious and catered for all of our needs. The staff were friendly and unbelievably helpful. The scenery just outside of the property is incredible - fantastic views, and with the restaurant just next door overlooking the sea it was perfect. The restaurant food menu was also great and again you just couldn't fault the wait staff.

United StatesWe enjoyed everything about our stay. There is a sweeping panoramic view from the windows and the deck. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. We loved the restaurant Il Cantuccio for the friendly staff, the lovely view and the lively and romantic ambience in the evenings. The breakfasts on the patio with the sea view was such a pleasurable way to start each day. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We loved that the town is small but lively, but not crowded like many of the cities we visited during our stay. The location is perfect for a people who want to avoid crowds. The bus stops right outside the property which can take you to Sorrento and the rest of the peninsula. FYI, getting to Sorrento is relatively easy because the EAV bus seems to come about every 20 min. But using the SITA bus system to get around to the other towns in the peninsula was more hit and miss. There is a tourist info office that gives very good info about getting around.
