That we couldn’t stay longer

Heaven on earth. Starting from greeting us when we came, continuing to an amazing room, then to have the entire amazing spa just for ourselves, moving on to an amazing outdoor sitting around the fire place, eating an incredible vegetarian dinner, and outstanding breakfast. We were speechless. Giuliana, there is not enough thanks on this planet to describe our experience. Cant wait to return.

At breakfast the glass wall is great for the view but hot if your table is in the sun.

Showers needed unblocking but they were sorting it as we left.

Glorious views from our room over the orchard and into the ridges and mountains beyond. Excellent spa run by the lovely Federica and Clara, both highly skilled and caring therapists, where we had treatments including deep tissue massage, facial, mani and pedicure. And a great restaurant into the bargain. Our dog also loved it and she didn’t use the spa!

Relais Colle Buono really is in a league of its own. We stayed for 5 days for a wedding being held nearby. We had 4 rooms at Colle Buono, there were 126 of us attending the wedding and we were the lucky ones to have chosen at truly beautiful hotel. We will be back! We have travelled Italy a lot and stayed in many places with our dog, but 40 euros for a 10kg hypoallergenic dog is excessive and almost double to what we usually pay. It would also be handy to have a bin outside to clean up after our dog. We also had to wait 25 minutes for 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and the restaurant was nearly empty.

Colle Buono is beautiful and in the most tranquil setting. Facilities are idillic, especially the swimming pool. we also really lovely our room. Perfect location. The orchard was also great for our dog to run around. We would definitely look at staying again.

The disappointing part of the stay was the bed comfort. We found it really uncomfortable and there was 1 night I couldn't fall asleep at all, which impacted our next day's activities. They line the bed mattresses with something that causes overheating - the pillows are massive and not usable. Even despite requesting new pillows from their "Pillow guide" they didn't manage to change them throughout our stay. This was disappointing considering the basic function of an accommodation of any standard is to provide a great night's sleep. The Sauna from their spa doesn't work as expected - there are gaps between doors and frame which causes the heat to escape resulting in more of a room with heating rather than a Sauna experience.

The Relais location and surrounding views from the property are so stunning. The nearby town of Alvito is worth driving through with some amazing restaurants and rustic scenery. Bring a translation app for effective communication :) The Relais restaurant is a great experience although it was pricey. We went to both the Relais restaurant and nearby restaurants in Alvito - the value you get is much greater in Alvito. The Relais staff are attentive and keen to make your stay the best it can be.

We stayed at a number of places around Italy during our trip and this was our favorite. The setting is stunning, the rooms are comfortable and the staff was wonderful. We hope to return one day.
