The appartement was cold, the heating didn't work as it was summer and there were two thin blankets for 3 people, which were not comfortable enough. Although the kitchen is fully equipped, there were nothing else, no coffee machine (I searched everywhere) just a cattle. We could have used oil, salt and pepper... Small stuff like that, that were missing. The shower has only 3 little pieces of soap and 3 samples of shampoo. And bearly 2 rolls of toilet paper. We stayed 3 nights and non of these were enough so we had to go and buy our own. This was upsetting as well as there was nowhere in the shower or sink to place the soap, so we had to leave it on the shower's floor. These all are little issues that the host can fix in no time and would have made our stay sooooo much nicer!

The hosts were very friendly and responsive. The appartement was very clean. The lockgate parking was also great. The lake-view was amazing. Quiet nice neighborhood.

First property was w-a-your of town with no nearby facilities. Apt was cold No one available to let us on. Spent 11/2 hours in the effort. All that changed when we called the property manager and he relocated us to a wonderful property right in town. From very bad to wonderful.?

The walk down and up to Varenna city over rocky and steep roads is quite exhausting.

Lovely view at Como lake. Very spacious, clean and well equipped apartment. Gated parking lot at the apartment. Self check-in was clear and easy.

A bit far up in Varenna, you have to climb steep stairs for 20-30 minutes to get back to the location or up a very windy road (which can become dangerous when the weather is wet) Taxis are good but not that reliable and are better booked in advance. There is a night bus which is useful. Would be nice if the TV actually worked.

It is quite the trek up the mountain to get to the room. We had to plan for entire day so we didn't have to do the steps more than once per day. You will need to be in good shape to stay here. I do not recommend for children or baby strollers.

It is an extremely difficult location to get to. There is a single bus during the day that can drive you up the hill, but it is very confusing to figure out the bus system. On our last day the bus drove right by us and we had to walk down the entire hill for 30 minutes with all our luggage. The host was helpful in providing taxi #s, except the taxis were limited and typically busy when requested. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and there was no AC and/or fans so it got very hot. The gate also locked at certain hours of the night so we had to chuck our luggage over the gate when we left on our last morning. I would honestly just recommend staying somewhere at ground level rather than up on the hill unless you are familiar with bus system.

Communicative host, gorgeous view, spacious, beautiful area (Verona) but difficult to get to property itself, the staff at Bar Milano (local bar nearby) was awesome

The hike up to the apartment from the station is steep but as we learned after the first day there is a bus that goes from Varenna station to Perledo which made getting to the apartment much easier :)

The apartment was spotless, really clean. Bed was super comfy and the couch was nice to chill out on in the evenings. The view from the balconies was amazing to wake up to each morning. Oscar was great to communicate with and gave us lots of information.

Understanding that we were at Lake Como during a heatwave but the apartment did get quite warm. Once opening the doors and shutters, we were able to let the breeze in but doors wouldn’t stay open because of this. There was a cooking pan in the kitchen which was unusable which we didn’t realise until we had already purchased food requiring the pan.

Being able to have a whole apartment to ourselves and having a functioning kitchen allowed us to save money instead of eating out every night. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom facilities were good and the view of the lake from the balcony was exceptional. We utilised the view and had dinner on the balcony every night.

Perhaps expected a slightly more welcoming or cozy apartment but we were comfortable. The gate stopped working multiple times so we had to hop over the gate. We didn’t expect the walk with no sidewalks to town but we enjoyed the views on the way down!

Our hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. We appreciate the communication on accessing the place and being told about the train - we felt very cared for. Thank you!
