How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

There was no kitchen utensils at all, not even a single teaspoon. The window was opening to the very little court, dark and a bit smelly.
Great location, close to both the cathedral and the train station. There was always someone at the desk, friendly and english speaking. The front door was always open, no keypads or PIN numbers to remember.

The worst part is that the bedroom smells a bit weird.
I was expecting very poor conditions, after reading the comments. I have to admit I was positively surprised. For the price we paid, the conditions were definitely ok. Apart from a weird smell in the bedroom. The location is amazing, you can be anywhere in the city in less than 10 minutes. The staff was lovely. Of course you have to be aware that it is a 1 star hotel, but the conditions meet the price. Would recommend if you are on a budget.

Weird check-in time, only from 2:30pm to 8pm, charge more if checking late, which is ridiculous. For local tax, required cash payment without stating it in prior. Night staff was rude.

Check in/out times were quite restricting.
The location was ideal. We were only there for two nights so it was perfect to get to know the centre of the city.

pillows and bed sheets was really tin for this weather and because of that it was cold inside, because the heating system only works during the night and also atfer staying you can't leave your bags for your last day.

There is no wifi
We had a room with the windows to inner courtyard, so even though it’s a central location in Florence, we didn’t hear anything from streets, so we had a great sleep. For the price, and location, it’s a good value

My room had poor connectivity with the phone network and wifi was not available in my room. This made me disconnected from the world once inside the room. As such, I missed some important phone calls. The management was somehow unfriendly during check-in because I arrived after 8.00 pm due to the flight disruptions

The bathrooms were shared, so you would have to plan your shower, though that is what you booked for!
The location was ideal, right in the city center, 10 minutes walk from the central station. Lots of opportunities for a good bite to eat, plus a nice breakfast location (Kitchen and Coffee) right in front.

Very loud pump/engine noises early in the morning from the square outside. There's not really anything that the hotel can do about that, but it did wake us up.
Great location, right in the middle of the action with many bars and restaurants nearby, and an easy walk to all the must-see tourist attractions. We were a bit put off by the other reviews, but the room was clean and comfortable and had a great view over the square. The staff were friendly enough and helpful.

Soiled towels arent replaced, no soap holder in the shower and toilet windows need to be left open but beware of mosquitoes!
Great location, value for money & room has basic amenities. Our family was given a comfortable big room. They dont have breakfast but there's a cafe right across.
