How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Beautiful apartment, well maintained and quirky (in a good way!). Great location within walking distance of main areas. Breakfast was by way of a voucher at a nearby cafe - a vibrant and busy place but it was lovely.

It’s really important to note that you are booking a room in a 2 bedroom apartment. Meaning, you are sharing a 2 bed apartment with someone else. It’s a nice apartment in a good location, but it’s a self check in room in a shared place

No personal contact with property manager. Felt a bit disconnected. 5 euro breakfast voucher was the ‘breakfast included’ at a cafe offsite.

Big and clean room with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a bit small but clean. Very good location near beautiful restaurants and the river. At a 5 minute walk is a bus station that connects with the train station and the center.

Everything was nearly perfect. The only little things that were a minimal problem were that the shower thing at the top didn't work properly and the breakfast is sweet croissants but overall everything was pretty nice.

Very central to walk to everything. Had a shared kitchen, which I was unaware of. More instructions on how to locate, which keys fit which doors, how to raise and lower shutters and how to use the stove would have made my stay easier.

It was a very well located and reasonably priced property. However, although it was clean on the first day, it was not cleaned again during the 5-day accommodation. The room had no sunlight.

Where do I start? The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was amazing! Exquisite decoration ! The place was even better than the photos and the feeling it gave us was amazing. The location was awesome. Plus the check in and check out process was stress free and quick. Thanks for everything!

There was nothing we didn't like.
The location was ideal for us to explore the city. The room was very comfortable and although we didn't use it having a kitchen available was a great addition. The breakfast at a nearby cafe was just enough to start the day.

We found the communication from the staff to be poor. Check in details were only sent an hour before check in and messages sent by us were ignored
The room was comfortable and beautiful. The breakfast vouchers were a nice touch

The owner/host does not know what customer service means, which destroys the experience. 1. When reserving the room, because we were going to arrive late, I sent two messages on Booking and one email without any reply. Finally, I had to ask an Italian friend to make a call and see if it is okay to arrive later to confirm. 2. On the day of the arrival, I did not get the necessary information because the person in charge could not be bothered to provide it since I did not have WhatsApp. When we arrived, we still had no information about the codes and how to get into the room. I had to call her at 22:00 and ask for the details as she did not seem interested to find a way and sent the to us (even though the reservation was paid for in advance). It’s a pity that such a beautiful place has such bad service.
The room, the facilities, and the location were excellent.

Using the communal lounge/kitchen is awkward if the other room is booked by different people. Noise from residents in other apartments filters down to your room.
Apartment located in historical area, easy walk to everything. Room was well appointed and comfortable, nice and dark for sleeping. Lots of fluffy towels provided and voucher for breakfast (coffee and brioche) at local Cafe included in price.
