Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWe took the "duplex" room, which has a mezzanine with the bed and the bathroom behind it. Bit of a weird layout, but fine. The main problem is that the air-con is downstairs and as we learnt in physics class: cold air is heavier than warm air. So it was too hot upstairs for is to sleep well and too cold for our children who slept downstairs (on the sofa bed). It was at least 15° colder down there. Funny, but not if you need a good night's rest. This was on a hot day though and the hotel has other rooms as well.
The hotel is situated in a gorgeous old building, right in the center of Rieti. The rooms have an old-timey charm which I personally like very much. Very good coffee for breakfast as well even by Italian standards. Well worth the price for its location alone.

IrelandEverything was great.
Friendly, welcoming, and very obliging staff. We stayed for seven nights. Marco at reception made every effort to make us welcome and comfortable and facilitated a late checkout. The waiter at breakfast, (sorry we didn't get his name), was friendly and anticipated our needs after the first day! All the staff were friendly! The hotel also had a very nice cafe where excellent coffee, sandwiches etc. were available.

Great location; Marco went up and beyond to take care of us, even walking us to the restaurant next door to help us with the menu.

United KingdomThe Hotel was good and the reception staff were lovely. We had drinks and snacks at the outside bar on arrival. We were planning to spend the afternoon drinking in the sunshine but as my partner was drinking cocktails quicker than I was drinking the beer she asked for 2 minutes before her next drink. The waiter said something along the lines of you’ll have to order to continue sitting there. We were 2 cocktails and 2 beers and 2 sandwiches in within a half hour period and would have happily continued to buy drinks etc but his comment put us off and we went elsewhere to continue drinking and eating.
Location was perfect for the cammino and we had a nice big room with a terrace which was great value for money.

BrazilProblem Noise I had to use an earplug. on the corner that appears to be part of the hotel itself, (it has the same name), it is noisy until late and customers at the bar chat with laughter until late. The window even has good soundproofing, but it's not enough. In the hall in front of reception there were people talking until midnight. I believe it's just the weekend, as I slept on Friday and Saturday.
Excellent location 10 minutes walk from the station and close to attractions and good restaurants. Great staff. Great attentive, friendly staff. Large room with firm bed, safe, good wifi. Breakfast very sweet, typical of Italy, but there are savory options. .

SwitzerlandDownside was that, despite requests, wifi wasn’t working at all. Another minor drawback was the breakfast room / ballroom. A place that could have a lot of charm with a bit of effort, instead it was just dreary. Breakfast was very good, however.
Fantastic location, kovely room - everything’s in the old side of things and that delivers a truckload of charm. Very good value for money - excellent bed - enjoyed the bath, too.

ItalyBreakfast could be better, but upon request, one gets fresh panini. Room cleaning service starts working at 7:30 hrs, so that everybody sleeping till.then gets awakened by the noise. So get up early!
Right in the center of the city and the owner is very helpful. One can feel a very great past of the whole building.

CanadaIt was an old building, but well maintained and still had some of the cachet of its former days.
Location was great - a good stop off in our Via di Francesco. Breakfast includes was good and lots of choice. Marco (at the front desk) was fabulous and healthful and friendly - the hotel should be proud of employees like him.

United StatesOur room had some issues with the bedroom windows and the bathroom plumbing. In their defense, we didn't tell them about the issues until checkout as we were so exhausted from our travels. They likely would have given a different room as we were there off season.
The hotel exterior and lobby were beautiful and it was a nice location for an overnight stop on our travels. Very spacious rooms with high ceilings.
