I think Bergamo is a place most tourists visit in transition to another destination. Hotels around the airport are extremely expensive and so I understand the option for a budget hotel for one night. You get what you pay for. I agree with the comments here, that the Post Hotel is very rundown. It is more realistic to call the "bathroom" a wet room. It dried surprisingly very quickly though, and there was always hot water. The landlady, Margarite , is very kind and speaks French and English well. There is a supermarket a stone's throw away and the hotel is easily accessible by public transport. The profile on booking.com boasts airport transfer, but this is misleading and should be scrapped.

It was pretty cold, the heating was on only during the night, for a few hours. It was a bit loud, but it is specified that it is near a busy street. There wasn't any sheets for the blankets and that was odd.

Everything was clean, the old lady was always answering the phone and was nice. The beds are comfortable.

The were not any duvet, only linen. It was cold to sleep at night. And if you are leaving hotel in the early morning or come back late - you need to call this nice old lady to open the gate. It is not bad. It is just not comfortable to do it.

Shuttle is listed for hotel, but it's really a taxi service which serves them and is 25 EU in either direction from BGY, so I'm not sure how that should be listed or allowed to be listed. To me it was misleading so I took the bus one way to save. The outside really looked old, decrepit, falling apart, and I had my reservations until I went inside, met the owner and saw the rooms. The directions were confusing from the train station, and I ended up on the bus in the opposite direction until someone helped me.

Owner is sweet elderly friendly lady, very helpful and accommodating. Supermarket right next door. Rooms well kept and clean. Wifi ok. Doors lock and security. Clean bathroom and towels. Sweet looking room. 7 stops from bergamo train station which is one stop from BGY airport.

No reception before 3pm, you have to call an Italian phone number so that someone comes and opens the door (roaming rates may apply). Not so good location, far from the city center only reachable with a bus that doesn't operate after 21:30 :-( . If you need a cab to the airport book it yourself online, if you ask the lady in the hotel she will call a friend who will charge you the regular taxi fee (25 EUR) but it's not an actual taxi, so you have to pay in cash only, no receipt, nothing. No possibility of breakfast and no cafeterias in the area.

It's pretty much as basic as it gets nowadays. From the outside it looks almost like an abandoned building. The inside is lightly better. I guess it's alright for the price for one night if you have to get to the airport in the morning.

The shower is the non flexible kind, is not very convenient. Not many electricity plugs, you have to unplug the lamps to charge phones. The location is ok but we arrived late at night and it’s not very nice to have to walk for a long time in the industrial area of the city because there are not many buses going there.

If you need a cheap hotel for 1 - 2 nights in Bergamo, then the Hotel Post is very suitable for this. From the outside, the hotel looks a little strange, an ordinary detached building. There is no sign and no usual reception. But you will be met by a very friendly, nice hostess, Signora Margherita, she will help you with everything and tell you everything: how to get there, where to have a snack or dinner, what else to help. There is a supermarket nearby, open until 20.30. Direct bus from Bergamo Central Station (No. 8) The room is clean and comfortable. The hotel has a small courtyard where you can park your car.
