Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe hotel is grand with heritage architecture and modern art pieces throughout all spaces. The location is at the entry of the old town, the service is excellent and breakfast has good variety. We had a great experience and would love to come back.

United KingdomRoof top pool would be great.
It’s an amazing hotel, steeped in history and full of charm. We had room 001 which has the underground pool and is something we got lots of use out of, especially after a day walking around Lecce in the hot weather. The location of the hotel is excellent and within seconds you are in the thick of the old town. The roof top is lovely and is great for sipping a glass of wine above the roof tops of Lecce. It has the space for a small pool and our advice to management is to put one in if you can. We moved from Lecce to Monopoli and the hotel there did have a pool, and it added another dimension to the stay. That’s not to take anything away from the hotel - it’s beautiful and you feel like you’re in Lecce’s rich history. It’s a special place and we would definitely go back there if we get the chance.

United StatesNo issues to be honest. I think the only thing I would recommend is that only room one has the cool whirlpool that you see in the pictures. It can be confusing when you are looking at everything.
The staff were great and the property is super clean. I love the historical stone work that they have as well.

United KingdomEverything about this hotel was great. The location in a quiet street near the centre, the traditional architecture and unique arty decor. Our room was spacious and quiet. The breakfast is tasty. The staff were really helpful. They offer valet parking, which worked seamlessly. They also booked us a great taxi for a trip to San Foca.

United Kingdom- This may not be an issue for some but the bed was very hard - The toilet flush needs some adjusting as otherwise it continuously refilled.
- The hotel is beautifully designed. - The room (room 211) was spacious with statement furniture and bathtub. - The location is perfect for exploring the oldest parts of Lecce. - The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. - The breakfast was good and plentiful.

NetherlandsBecause it is inside the old town narrow streets, it was really , really hard to find, even when the hotel had given previous location instructions. Navigation systems are not reliable in these streets. Suggestion to offer a valet pick up service at the edge of the old town ..
Absolute top. Beautifully renovated palazzo in old town centre. Five star approach to the guest, by reception staff, breakfast staff, valet parking staff. Rooms, bathroom , all was really good!

SingaporeThe bathroom was exquisitely designed but the shower area needed a door. The floor next to the shower area got very wet after each shower. The hair conditioner dispenser was not working properly throughout our 5 nights stay. We asked for it to be fixed but it was not done. If we needed a change of towels, we were instructed to throw the towels on the floor, which did not seem like the right thing to do. A basket for used towels that needed to be changed would have been nice. The bed was larger than the mattress provided, leaving an exposed ledge on one side of the bed, which created an obstacle when getting onto the mattress.
One of the loveliest hotels we have stayed at (and we have stayed in quite a few very nice ones across the world). Every corner and piece of furniture and fitting, was elegantly and artistically designed. Room was large and the large complimentary bottle of drinking water provided each day was very much appreciated. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much. Having walked through the old town of Lecce so many times, we did not see a nicer hotel. If we ever return to Lecce, there would be no other choice for us to stay at other than this one. We wouldn't miss the chance to stay there again.

United StatesThe only thing that would have improved our experience would have been cooked-to-order food such as eggs included but this hotel did not include a restaurant so we didn't expect cooked breakfast.
This hotel is gorgeous! The decor throughout is very classy and the setting is the historic stone along with updated plaster. The lobby area had a bar along with a lovely lounge to sit in and an eating area for the breakfast. The room was very spacious and extra table/counter space to use our laptops, look at maps, and enjoy our coffee in the room. The bathroom was large and had a very good amount of space for our toiletries. Our room had two balconies--the balconies were small but cute and had an excellent view of the beautiful street. The rooftop garden was so amazingly beautiful--we we enjoyed that space several times to have our coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The location is excellent--from the hotel you can easily walk the whole of Lecce's old city and tourist sites. There is valet parking offered or park a short distance away outside the residential use zone. All the staff spoke excellent English and were very willing to help. The breakfast was very good with pastry and cheese options.

AustraliaEverything was wonderful! As our room had stairs to go up and down to the bathroom, mobility issues may be a problem for some.
A beautifully, architecturally designed hotel with attention to detail in the historic centre of Lecce. Artwork around the hotel was a feature to admire! Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was in abundance and catered well for a gluten free option. There is also a lift which is a help! A small boutique hotel full of old charm with modern facilities.

United StatesAbsolutley nothing. This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. Just stunning and the staff was incredible, especially the breakfast staff. Don't forget to tip them a little!
Where to start!..... Gorgeous 16th century palace remodeled into a lovely hotel that is one of the most beautiful places we've ever stayed and we travel a lot. It is centrally located, walking distance to everything and made me feel like a renaissance nobel but with all the modern day amenities. Roof deck, stately bar, wonderful spa, lounging areas that you'd want to linger for hours, and the most wonderful breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. Fresh and local fruits (kiwi and pineapple and berries), local meats and cheeses, home made breads, home made pasteries, home made jams, fresh squeezed juices, artisan yogurts, everything you could ever want. Even coffee and eggs to your order. You know when you get breakfast with your room and it's all so blah and generally lack luster? Well this is the polar opposite. I felt like I was eating breakfast at some rich lords home that was a foodie and loved the best of the best of everything. It was HANDS DOWN the best breakfast at a hotel we have EVER had. The decor was timeless, rich, and well appointed to the previous palace. Art work was beautiful and creative. The rooms were HUGE and palatial. Gorgeous marble bathrooms with good toiletries and everything you need. Space for all of your travel. Huge bathtubs. Big closets, Great mini bars and the beds! ah the beds were luscious and you could pick what kind of pillow you wanted even though the 2 they put on your bed were perfect.
