Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. ItalyMy dislikes are limited to the experience. As mentioned above I couldn't even get into the property. Prior to my stay the host didn't get in touch with me to tell me how to check in; upon arriving at the property (admittedly 1.5h prior to the check-in time) I realised that the apartment complex didn't have a clearly dedicated doorbell. At that point, worried about the lack of communication and inability to locate the flat, I tried to call the property twice and got no response. I ended up having to call Booking.com who also tried to reach out to the host who didn't answer; eventually I had to book an hotel as a replacement. Not only all the above, the host ended up calling me at 9:30pm and messaging me on whatsapp reminding me of the reservation; I replied advising all the above points and he proceeded to apologise for not being able to host me (providing no justification whatsoever for the lack of communication) and asked me to reach out to that number in future (as if there is going to be a next time!). You think that's it? Of course not. At 11:30pm the host proceeded to send me two more messages on Whatsapp apologising again and asking if he could offer me a coffee the following day. I was trying to be fair and thought maybe there was a genuine reason for not picking up the phone, but honestly I think the host has been unprofessional leading up to the reservation, at the moment of the reservation and after the reservation. As a solo woman traveler, I felt extremely uncomfortable with the messages.
Difficult to say as the host never sent me information on how to check in, nor was I able to stay at the property and had to book an hotel.

It was very close to the Duomo, like 30 minutes by foot. The central station was 20 minutes away. The apparent is clean, with shared bathroom. Everything was alright, I had an amazing stay.

IrelandThey don’t sell water bottles or anything. There was no toilet paper, toilet was shared and it wasn’t very clean. Unfortunately communication was bad too, it wasn’t given instructions how to get to the building or how to get into it. I had to send messages which took a bit to have answers. I would say for 1 night , like me, it’s fine, but more than that I would recommend somewhere else.
