Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Stefania was an amazing host — responsive, welcoming with drinks and croissants, and gave us great restaurant tips and discounts. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and in a perfect central location to walk everywhere. Highly recommend — we’ll be back!

I liked everything about the property. The host was amazing—very supportive and kind. She even helped me extend my stay, which I truly didn’t expect. It felt like visiting a family member. She arranged a taxi for me at 4 AM to the airport and even messaged me at 4 am to check if I arrived safely. She also recommended many great places to visit, and all of them were worth trying. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If you want a truly memorable stay in Palermo, definitely choose this place. Bonus: I rarely write reviews for anyone, but this property deserves it.

Stefania was an amazing host, lots of information provided about the apartments (we rented two) the location, and all the great things to do in the area. Very kindly left lots of great snacks, and brought pastries, both apartments were spotlessly clean. One very large with a lovely balcony view, and the other was the top floor one with a little private terrace e and hot-tub, which was perfect for afternoon relaxing. Incredible value for money and really brilliant location.

Peonia was in a great central location and was very clean and modern. Stephani was absolutely fantastic . She gave us great recommendations for places to go and restaurants. She helped us order taxis and make reservations. She was so helpful and welcoming . She couldn’t have done more to help us enjoy our stay.

It's a third-floor apartment with no elevator, so you'll need to be able to cope with a few stairs otherwise it was perfect for my family short visit to Palermo.
Stephanie, our host, went above and beyond, and we couldn't have asked for more. She was incredibly helpful, sharing a wealth of information, checking in with us regularly to ensure everything was okay, and providing lovely little touches, such as cold bottled water upon arrival, cakes one afternoon, and complimentary tea and coffee.

The location was perfect, right in the heart of palermo! The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable and we were able to store our luggage in the common area on the last day. Stephania is the best host, providing information for everything and making sure we have the best stay. She even got me sweet treats when I mentioned it was my birthday! Thanks for everything ✨️

Our stay at Peonia was everything we needed for our time in Palermo. From the beginning, communication with Stefania was amazing - she made sure we were informed and able to transfer from the airport safely, gave excellent recommendations and met us directly for checkin. The apartment itself was beautiful, clean and well equipped for our stay. In addition to this, the property was stocked with all of the snacks and drinks we could ask for, and we were even brought fresh pastries on multiple occasions during our stay! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to others coming to Palermo, and look forward to visiting again in future!

The propriety was great and I’d be delighted to return.
Ideal location. The apartment is spacious, clean comfortable bed, easy for preparing food. Up three flights of stairs. Fairly quiet at night.

We loved everything about our stay here. The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. You simply can't ask for a better location. It is quite, but within walking distance to everything. The room is lovely and very clean. The owners thought of everything! We took advantage of our one slow day and enjoyed sitting at the rooftop with the bottle of wine that was waiting in our room on our arrival. Truely more than just an apartment.
