Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Great location with wonderful owners who were very friendly and helpful providing local information on restaurants and travel to Cinque Terre.

Somewhat of a musty smell. The hallway smelled awesome, we wished the same diffuser could have been placed in the bathroom.
The owners gave us an exceptional greeting and helped us out with parking.

We had a great stay with wonderful hosts who were communicative and friendly! I was impressed by the room which was modern and beautiful with a balcony view. Functional air conditioning. Great location and easy to access from station, and a quick walk into town and beach.

1. The hotel is very close to the train station, just a 5-minute walk away. 2. The room is large, clean, tidy, fully equipped and warm. 3. The staff is very enthusiastic and helped to carry the luggage upstairs. 4. Luggage can be stored after check-out, which is convenient for travelers.

However, our sink backed up and didn’t drain well, and the room could have used a deeper cleaning. Despite these issues, it was still a good stay overall."
The Pavian is in a convenient location, just a short walk from the train station and not far from the beach. (Great location for exploring Cinque Terre). The room and bathroom were reasonably sized, with a very comfortable bed. Bar Levanto nearby is for breakfast and aperitivo.

The Pavian is a short walk from the train station and it's not far to the beach. It does have one flight of stairs. The bed is very comfortable with a reasonable size room and bathroom. It has a the lovely Bar Levanto nearby for breakfast.

balcony would be great addition and price was to high comparing that it was no hotel with reception

Great location for exploring Cinque Terre very close to train station. Recently refurbished so everything top quality and clean. If you have a hire car you cannot get anywhere near the five Cinque Terre towns. This property offers free parking and you are five minutes from the train line that services the five towns!

Linens, bathroom, surfaces etc were spotlessly clean, however the floor was a bit dusty- needed a mopping. Very small quibble though otherwise a great stay.
This is an apartment that has been renovated to be three en-suite rooms. Up a steep stairs but only one flight. The room is nicer than the photos appear. Very convenient location 5 mins walk from the train (but the station is uphill, this is the Ligurian coast! It’s hilly!) Easy flat walk into the village and beach.

The towels were thin and not so soft, but that is a detail.
Location was very good, close to the station and not to far from the city center. Host was very very friendly. Room was nicely decorated and complete with fridge and thee. Bathroom and shower was splendid. We felt save in the room.

We did not know that we would have to pay 10€ extra for parking our car in the property. They were really nice though and let us park the car until the next day at 2pm.
The room was very clean and modern. The bed is really comfortable and the place is really close to the train station which is perfect to visit the cinque terre.

It could have been cleaned more (dust in the shower and on the toilet ring).
Great location, nice waterpressure and cool shower! Great service and close parking spot for an additional 10€ per night which is fair. Beautiful interior and comfortable bed.

Need to walk up the stairs, so will have issue if you are carrying huge luggages. And no one is around when we checked in, need to wait for 15 min.
