Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe property is amazing! The only recommendation I’d make is for the staff to shape the guests’ expectation of the difficulty to reach the property by car, driving through the pedestrian, crowded streets of the old town, and the size of the car that can fit through the gate.
Authentic palazzo with furniture and photos of the family that has been owning the property for 200 years. Location is in the center of the old town, yet, once one steps in, it is quiet and tranquil. The rooftop garden makes the place incredible. We felt privileged to be able to spend time at the palazzo.

AustraliaBeautiful building, rooms elegant but very warm and inviting. Stunning vine covered courtyard. People friendly and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Professional and courteous. Breakfast spread wonderful. Proximity to the centre of all activity but serene once inside the doors. Peaceful and comfortable sleep. One of the staff volunteered to drive us to pick up our rental vehicle which was very helpful and saved us a lot of time. Over and beyond what was expected. Met and chatted to the woman who was the owner of the building who was personable and genuinely warm. We loved our stay and will definitely return.

United KingdomArriving with a big car (our choice). Difficult to get into the courtyard to park - but we managed with help from the staff!
The location was brilliant - right in the middle of the old town. The highlight has to be the roof terrace and the aperitives each evening watching the sunset over the city and listening to the Duomo bells. Also fun to escape the busy town into what feels like a secret door into the Palazzo where all is quiet and cool within. The rooms are airy with plenty of space and lovely to stay in a historic building. Staff are very helpful and welcoming.

Palazzo Rollo is in a fabulous location, right in the heart of Lecce. We enjoyed sunset cocktails on the roof top deck overlooking the Duomo and the old city. a real bonus to be able to park our car in the rear courtyard. We had a great recommendation from the Hotel for a local restaurant that was close by to the property.

CanadaThe tv didn’t work properly. It would have been nice to have the Netflix app on it at the very minimum. Also, it would be a nice touch to have hair conditioner in the bathroom.
The rooftop patio is incredible. The washroom was huge and bright.

Our stay at Palazzo Rollo was absolutely enchanting. The building itself is stunning full of character, history, and beautifully preserved architecture. The location is perfect right in the heart of Lecce’s historic center, just a few minutes’ walk from major landmarks, cafes, and charming little streets. Despite being so central, the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with high ceilings and elegant furnishings. The rooftop terrace was a highlight perfect for enjoying a glass of wine with a view of the city’s baroque skyline. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and happy to offer local recommendations. We’d highly recommend Palazzo Rollo to anyone wanting an authentic and memorable stay in Lecce.

AustraliaThis is an absolutely fantastic property, in the centre of the centre of town! It’s even fun driving in there, and getting the car through the front gates! The staff were really lovely, and the hotel was beautiful. We have absolutely no complaints. It was really hot when we were there, but we had a lovely Apperal spritz on the rooftop every night at 6 pm which was a real treat. We had a couple of nice meals at Doppiozero, which is about 100 m away, and was fun. When you’re out walking around make a booking there for a quick meal And remember not to eat until about 8 pm!
