Staying in this apartment was an absolutely magical experience. Located right in the heart of Bergamo’s old town, the place is surrounded by history—you can literally feel it in the walls. Nothing to dislike.

I rarely say “perfect,” but this stay was so in every way. I had the larger room, including a walk-in closet, Nespresso machine, big comfortable bed, table with chairs, and window with a view. The facilities are impeccable in a beautiful old building right in the center of the historic Alta. Immediate support via WhatsApp for all needs and questions.

We were so impressed at how beautiful, elegant and stylish the place is. We felt like we were staying in a museum. The family room was so clean and comfortable and spacious. The location is right in the center of the upper city. This must be one of the best accommodations we’ve stayed in.

My only knock was that the breakfast wasn’t anything special. I am not a big breakfast person so the continental style was perfect for me. But if you want something hot, then you will be disappointed.

This property is in an excellent location right next to where the funicular arrives. There are many shops and restaurants nearby and the views are beautiful. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. It had a very nice walk in closet to help keep us organized. The bathroom and room itself was decent sized, especially by European standards. Coffee and fruit were available at any time. Barbara, the contact person, is very responsive and helpful with many ideas to make your visit enjoyable. She was very sympathetic to our travel delay and we greatly appreciated that after all the airline stress. The property was very quiet. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves!

Bed was a little hard. Also if you take the Orion shuttle to Milan MXP airport it is best to take the bus to Bergamo airport, otherwise instructions had us struggling with confusing and awkward bus transfers to get to the shuttle terminal.

Excellent location, beautiful Palazzo building and the breakfast was great. No noise from the downstairs even though it is next to the finicular station. Helpful and nice staff. We really enjoyed our stay in Bergamo and the hotel itself.

The location could not have been more perfect! The palazzo is in Città Alta next to the funicular station. It was a short walk to all of the major sites.

Small, comfortable and very convenient. If you visit Bergamo, then stay in the Città Alta in the Palazzo Porta Picta. You won’t be sorry. Only 15 steps from the top of the funicular and 20 steps from an aperitive bar! Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning, good coffee machines and an adequate breakfast for all tastes. Constant WhatsApp contact with the manager, compensated for the lack of presence.

Everything was really well-equipped. A spacious bathroom with adequate amenities, plenty of electrical outlets, spacious closets, a comfortable bed, an adjustable air conditioning system, a well-thought-out breakfast, a spacious shared living room for relaxing, etc. And I also received good support so that I could park my vehicle in the old town with the appropriate driving permit to get into the old town.

Amazing Place, All renovated and the rooms are impeccable. We loved the ease of getting in and out and extremely convenient if you plane on stay up in the Citta Alta area. Definitely recommend it. Porta Picta is a fabulous little Palazzo. Its 5 rooms make it quite exclusive, and its location is enviable - right next door to the funicular and at the edge of the beautiful central shopping and eatery street through the old town. Attention to detail is impeccable. Our dog Duke was their first doggie guest - he was given a beautiful doggie bed, which he took to immediately - as well as bowls for food and water. We were given a great recommendation for a (dog friendly) restaurant, which was top class with excellent gluten free and lactose free options - showing that gluten free and lactose free don't have to be limiting in the least. Porta Picta also offered lactose and gluten free options for breakfast on request, which was much appreciated. Internal garage places for 2 cars made parking hassle free, and with the option for slow overnight EV charging. Will definitely be staying again.

Our stay here was definitely a plus. This place is a must if you love rich Italian interiors with a touch of modernity. Very comfortable bed, beautiful stone bathroom, great view from the window to the small square and lovely hosts. All this in the center of Citta Alta, yet the nights were peaceful here.
