Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyParking in next door's parking lot would be a bonus.
Phenomenal accommodations right in central Tivoli. Beautifully renovated historic room where Pope Gregoria stayed in the early 1800's. Large, bright, quiet and very cozy. The hosts(s) were extremely accommodating on the check in and very helpful with restaurant reservations. Outstanding value for money. If you visit Rome, it is worth a detour here to see the extraordinary gardens (UNESCO) and stay at this Palazzo.

CanadaTo note: please let the host know your approximate arrival time and they will meet you there. Also ask privately in advance which buzzer to push when you arrive as it is within a larger unit. Don't let this sway you, you will feel like royalty staying here. Tivoli and the hotel exceeded our expectations.
This is a very unique, clean and well located property. The accommodation was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. It is also walking distance to a number of attractions, the train station and large public parking area.

United StatesThis historic building was perfect for three days in central Tivoli, surrounded by medieval streets. We could have spent many more days just exploring the neighborhood. It was a short walk to the Villa d'Este and Villa Gregoriana, or to a bus to Hadrian's Villa. Sarah helped us plan our stay with great itineraries and nearby restaurants. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated with antiques and every amenity. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. There was an espresso machine, Netflix, slippers, and a free mini bar stocked with drinks and snacks. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the large marble bathroom had great hot-water pressure. We will definitely return here for our next visit.

United StatesGood location for nice restaurants. Walking distance to Villa d’Este. We drove to Hadrians Villa because they had a big parking lot at the entrance.
Good location to see Villa d’Deste and Hadrians Villa. The property is hard to find. Our gps was confused in Tivoli and sent us in circles. The detailed directions that were sent via email should include, follow the brown signs that say Villa Gregoriana and then you can find the parking area that was recommended.

CanadaWe just can't say enough about our fantastic visit to Tivoli and our stay at the elegant, atmospheric Palazzo Papa Gregorio XVI. The rooms are beautiful--with high ceilings, ornate furniture and a modern bathroom.--and extraordinarily comfortable. It is SO quiet. This peaceful vibe, plus incredibly comfortable bed and blackout window shutters gave us great sleeps. On offer are amenities galore: generous toiletries, pastries and drinks, and excellent wifi. Location is superb, on a quiet cobbled street just steps away from bustling piazzas, terrific restaurants and cafes, shops, bakeries, pharmacies, etc. Our host was attentive, though we had lots of privacy. Thank you Sara, Elena, and Mrs. Octavia. We appreciated the great service, including a generous upgrade to the room a pope slept in, plus courtesy rides to and from the train station.

United StatesIt really was all wonderful!
This hotel is a historical building with architectural elements that are probably ancient but the rooms have all the modern comforts. Pope Gregorio the XVI stayed here. Showers, bathtubs, toilets, and bidets are all modern. Nespresso, tea, refrigerators with juices, and packaged treats were all part of the service. It is within walking distance of Villa d'Este. We stayed in the large Pope Gregorio room with a bathtub and shower. I highly recommend this place. The hosts were very enthusiastic sharing their recommendations about Tivoli & we ate an excellent restaurant. We accidentally had an extra night as we left Rome but it turned out to be perfect that we stayed in Tivoli before leaving for the Amalfi coast.

United StatesNothing really, Be aware that there is a flight of stairs you need to haul luggage up, but it's not bad.
As the other reviews stated, this was an exceptional place - an old building steeped in history (Pope Gregory himself used to stay in our room some 1.5 centuries or so ago), but also very clean and modern. The bed was by far the most comfortable on our trip, and the location was extremely convenient, with parking down the street (we could pull up to the venue to drop our bags right in front, then park in the lot 150 meters away), the town center with great restaurants just right down the street, plus very convenient to Pope Gregory's Villa and an easy walk to the Villa D'Estes too. The staff were wonderful. What's not to like? We didn't make coffee in our room, but erred to have a proper cappuccino and pastry in a restaurant some meters away. A great stay in a lively town with lots of history and things to see.
