How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed in the classic room and loved it! It was cozy, unique and well-maintained. The location was amazing and lots of great restaurants nearby. The host was so sweet and helpful which we appreciated a lot!
It was difficult when we arrived since the hotel does not have a reception. We met the owner at a nearby gelateria which worked out great, but it was a little bit confusing at first and we had contact with her over WhatsApp to figure it out. The room had its own entrance from the street which was nice but the door was made out of glass so the room got bright in the morning. One thing that could improve is that there was no safety box in the room. Everything felt safe regardless, but a safety box is always nice.
Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed your stay. We don't have a reception because we're a B&B, not a hotel. We met early in the morning at a bar because, as I explained, check-in is from 2:00 PM onwards. However, we did everything we could, and your room was ready by noon. We're working on the tent, and we appreciate your advice. See you soon.

Verified reviewVery spacious room in excellent location. VERY clean. Very comfortable bed. It was only two of us but the room would be more than enough for 4 people. I would stay here again.
The street is right on your doorstep, so the room is noisy, although this didn't matter to us. The room could do with a small dehumidifier.
Good morning, Madam. We're pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall. However, as far as noise levels are concerned, you chose a room on the ground floor. Maybe next time you could try our solutions on the upper floors. You'll see that it will be much better. The dehumidifier is in the room. I'd like to thank the staff for their kind words.

Verified reviewThe property is in a great location, just 5 minutes walk to the main square in the old town and the sea. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great. The owners run a gelateria round the corner where we went for a tasty breakfast and where everyone was very friendly. Really recommend staying here if you’re in Bari.

Verified reviewThe owners are very kind and helped us with many things including where the best restaurants are to visit and storing our luggage. The room was beautiful (Deluxe room) and the location perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the decoration is even better than the photos. We will definitely stay here again in the future
We loved everything.

Verified reviewLoved this large, comfy. cozy room with plenty of seating and space to deal with jet lag. Also liked the small dressing room. Breakfast was a continental affair at a nearby restaurant. It was quite fine, but we would prefer on-site meals. Even with that, the room was simply wonderful.
The room is up a steep flight of stairs. Fortunately, our bags were small, but it was a bit of a climb.

Verified reviewGood location, well placed in the old town and convenient for the modern area of the city too. The accommodation is very clean and well appointed. Patrizia is a very responsive and welcoming host. The roof terrace is a nice place to relax after sightseeing. The property is an easy 20 minute walk to the train station.
The property was a little difficult to find initially but this was because the taxi driver dropped us off at the wrong location. Tip for other travellers; if you arrive by taxi ensure that the driver drops you at Corso Vittorio Emanuele near the steps to the old town. It's easy then.
Thank you so much, it was a pleasure to have you as our guests, see you next time 😙

Verified reviewGreat location, clean and lovely stylish apartment. The cleaner came only once the morning after our arrival. There was nothing to clean then. The rest of the time (4 nights) no one came. It is worth bringing your own trash bag because the apartment only had a very small trash can in the bathroom. The nearest place to take the trash was about 100 meters away on a big street. We had a great time in Bari.

Verified reviewPalazzo Matilde is located just inside the old town so you have the best of both worlds,it is a short stroll to the newer part of town or just get lost in the old town…..don’t forget to look for the women who make pasta right outside their homes in the old town ;) The accommodation was a beautiful spacious room that included 2 sitting areas (a sofa and 2 cute chairs w/ table by the fireplace). They had a coffee machine, tea pot, mini fridge and a microwave for our use and the hosts left some bake goods and beverages for us upon arrival. For breakfast, the host provided a ticket for the coffee and pastry breakfast at Re Vittorio, which is just a 3 minute walk from the accommodation, which also has delicious gelato! Excellent choice in Bari…we would return…
All was good
really a thousand thanks. It was a pleasure to host you in out facility, we are waiting for you in Bari
