Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandDespite good directions and a map, we had trouble finding it. The only reason was that the sign in front of the entrance was covered with potted plants. A minor drawback is the garden. You have to cross a small alley to get there so not so convenient, and it's not very well-maintained – I'm assuming it's not used often by visitors. Another small problem is the balcony, which is shared with the second room
A highly recommended place in the heart of Chianti. An ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfasts with the option of ordering an Americano and espresso in the morning :). A comfortable room with everything you need. Excellent location in the town center. The street in front of the guesthouse, which transforms from empty in the morning to bustling with people in the evening, makes an incredible impression. This is due to the opening of the restaurant next door, a restaurant that serves fantastic dishes.

United KingdomThe location is beautiful. A very pretty Italian village with friendly villagers. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty and everyone catered for. The building is absolutely beautiful with lots of history (we even had a history tour, thankyou). Our room was kept clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view from the small balcony. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

United KingdomWe had a small balcony and would have preferred a bigger garden or pool area but we knew it wasn't an option when we booked. As long as you're not looking for those things this is very very good
We were last here in 2017 so it was nice to come back and without planning we had exactly the same room. Matteo was excellent in communicating pre-visit and it was everything we remember - very well located, good breakfasts and a couple of restaurants and bars nearby. Quiet but not too quiet. You have to have a car but that's fine, we like to travel out into the surrounding area

South AfricaNothing to fault. Except I would happily have desired more of those coffee's at any time of day! This stay is special, within close proximity to multiple stops and the staff will happily help you with it all.
The staff were fantastic (warm, kind and professional), the accommodation gave a truly authentic whilst utterly charming Italian experience, the breakfast was superb; a new homemade cake each day, the quality of the products top notch, the eggs! And Mary makes wonderful cappuccinos. Mary, Matteo and Maria all provided excellent tips for our stay and Matteo was able to organise dinner for us at La Toppa on very short notice - equally outstanding experience and literally next door! There were small touches that pushed the hospitality over the top, like quality mini easter eggs readily accessible in beautiful glass jars and freshly made chocolate biscuits at hand next to the tea and coffee in the shared area.

Beautiful palazzo in the heart of San Donato’s old town. Great staff that were extremely helpful, as we were traveling with our 7 month daughter. Mery made sure that every breakfast was well presented with an excellent selection of home cooked foods.

IrelandMore a recommendation - It would be good to have water to purchase or a refillable water dispenser, as all the local shops close in the middle of the day. Being from abroad where it’s not the norm for shops to close, we forget that shops close in the middle of the day in Italy. (I do think it’s great that they close - but I’m just not used to it!) 😅
Very old, but fantastically preserved historic property. Amazing staff. Breakfasts by Mary (especially the quiche) were fantastic. Matteo, the host, was amazing and was on hand to answer any questions, no matter what time of the day! Central location beside the square.

Loved this place and it's location in San Donato is fantastic. San Donato itself is a lovely small town within reach of everything you want to see around the Chianti area. 2 nice restaurants and great small shops, best butchers for Tuscan meats and salamis. Valeria was very helpful as were all the other staff at this property.
