Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GeorgiaThere is no table, there is no shelf.
More clarity on the payment method. At first it was written that we had to pay in cash, then they told us that we had to pay on the first day. We prefer to pay in advance, through an online booking website, and not have to wait for new notifications all the time, and have peace of mind in this regard.

IrelandLocation - a few steps from Eataly - a great food experience. Also metro and bus at your door. Beds comfortable, great quality linen. If you have a trolley for kids this place has stairs so be aware. Parking around 5 minutes walking - 20€/day

SerbiaRooms might be small, but that wasn’t an issue for us since we only used it for sleeping, WiFi connection was not great, but we managed to connect
Location was great, near the metro station and the lady cleaned our room every day. Good value for money

Serbia- Mirrors are in a very bad shape. You cannot look at yourself after washing your face, as the mirror is very old and dirty (that kind of dirt that cant be washed)...really should invest in that :) Only one mirror in the room is kinda ok. - Decor is not really my style, but that is subjective. - Dirty terrace and no ashtray. - Payment is not done in cash on arrival, but via link a day before (I suppose because we had a late check in) which made me little nervous but everything was okay. - Not really worth the money overall
- Location is good, I lived in this part of Rome for a while, so I always search for accommodation around. Very close to Via Ostiense where there are nice bars, pizzerias and also markets. - Lady working the reception was nice, and it is very useful that reception is open during the day so you may leave luggage after the check out if you have a late flight from Rome. - Bed is comfortable enough

United KingdomI have no complaints with this accommodation. Its small but great value for the price.
Great location although that comes with some train noise. Clean, neat and well presented room with handy little terrace. Comfortable bed and good pillows. Its a small room but great value for what you are paying and provides all that you need.

South AfricaIf you like a dirty, rat infested neigbourhood that smells of rubbish, this is the perfect place to stay. The rooms are generally not well kept. We found hair in the shower and bathroom from previous occupants, and even with daily cleaning we could not see what had been done to clean the room. The carpet leading to the rooms is dirty and stained with who knows what. In the rooms itself, white padding is adorned with diamante detail that is coming off. It really looks cheap and in dreadful need of an update. We got the impression that the rooms are rented by the hour as well - on the first night, the couple next to us were having loud sex all night and English conversations we could hear through the thin walls create the impression with us that this was not a couple, but a paid meeting. They also disappeared in the early morning hours before sunrise.
The pictures on the website is not at all what you can expect in reality. There is not much to like to be honest.

BrazilThere was a mistake when making the reservation and I made it for just 1 person, instead of 2. Even so, the room I booked was a Family Room with 3 beds - I paid 10 euros more compared to the room that only had 1 double bed. When I arrived to checkin with my friend, we realized the reservation mistake, and so I was told there would be another 5 euros to pay, as we were 2 guests, not 1. But the room they gave us had only 1 bed. I insisted we needed at least 2 beds, they ended up accomodating us in another room with 1 bed and a sofa-bed, but charged me 15 euros more (instead of 5). The staff was super nice and it worked out fine, but it was wrong to put me in a small room with 1 bed if the reservation was for the Quarto Famiglia with 3 beds. One thing I learned is to always take screenshots of every step of your booking, as the reservation email doesn't give so much details about the room you thought you booked.
Staff was nice.
