The access is very odd. We had THREE separate keys, one for building front door, one for the room and one for the bathroom, which was separate to the bedroom across the hall. Endlessly locking and unlocking bedroom & bathroom between two people... gets tiresome. This needs some work. They keys dont even really fit the locks properly either. Breakfast was so weird. Like sitting in someone's living room with a little spread of fruit and bread etc... with the owner sitting behind a counter. Was glad it was only one night

Nothing! Everything was perfect!

The accommodation is perfect. Close to the port, the train station, the bus station. Communication with the hosts was very good, they took care of everything we wanted. The breakfast was perfect, as was Ms. Stella, a perfect host. Thank you Orange House and we will definitely be back.

I had a lovely two-night stay at Orange House in Varenna. The place was clean, cozy, and perfectly located, just a short walk to the town center and the lake. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. Communication was easy and responsive throughout. Highly recommended!

Excellent communication from the hosts at Orange House prior to check in (via WhatsApp) so we could let them know our arrival time and they could meet us at the gate. This all worked well. We stayed ion the Orange Room. The location in Varenna is excellent, a couple of minutes walk from the lake (you can see this from the bedroom window) and near shops, restaurants and the lovely lake promenade. Very comfortable and clean room, with tea/coffee making facilities (not often seen in European hotels) and a large bathroom. This is a small property (2 rooms only). Breakfast is done one room at a time (8am or 9am), as the dining area isn't big enough to host everyone at once. However, the breakfast spread was excellent, everything were could have wanted, and our hosts were friendly and helpful. A lovely place to sty in Varenna.

Being notified by host a day before we were due to travel that we could not check in after 8 20 pm and if later then we needed to find alternative accommodation. Info received not helped by Italian/English translation etc. We did send message via Booking .com "direct to host" method a week or so explaining that trains were a problem and we would need to get buses and thus arriving around 9 00. Had no feedback from host until day before stating above condition and this was only due to the fact that Italian Rail was subject to 24 hour strike on day of our arrival ( but we were already having to use buses) Did try and contact Booking.com for some assistance etc with this problem but despite website stating that a 24/7 helpline telephone was available there was no actual telephone number given anywhere, with only FAQ which did nothing to aid. Finally we booked a nights stay away from the resort of Varenna where we where staying and turned up the following day, by bus, and host was most helpful.

The location was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. I also chose the room with a bathroom, which was perfect for me.

Everything was excellent, the host Mr. Pirelli was wonderful, and our stay had a very family-like feeling. We could always count on Mr. Pirelli; he was already waiting for us at the bus stop. :) The breakfast was very tasty. The location itself is perfect, the port is just a 3-minute walk at a comfortable pace.

As a solo traveler, I would have preferred not to have to leave my room and walk across a public hall to reach the bathroom. I also wasn't aware that parking cost 15euros/day. It was worth it, but it would have been nice to know at the time of booking.

Air conditioning was disabled so had to cool with windows which was fine from about midnight to 5 AM. Road noise is pretty significant other times despite the pleasant white noise from the river.

We stay in orange house one night , was very good distances to everywere . Breakfast was amaizing and pancake was yummy .very clean and nice red room .price its really good.we have amaizing time in this apartament.

Check in process was confusing, we did not understand that Orange House is basically a flat in a larger apartment building. The host was to meet us at the gate, but there were some timing and communication issues that led to this not happening. We also messed up the number of guests on our reservation that created some confusion at first.

Room was very clean, cozy and quiet. Breakfast was great and Stella was a great host, working to get us brochures and other information to inform us on sightseeing options.

Our communication with Mr Amilcare Giuseppe (who does the communication for Orange house) was challenging. We didn’t have wifi on the train. We sent him word upon leaving the Milano train station with ETA. We couldn’t honor his request for contact 30 min prior to arrival with no SIM card and European cell service. Consequently we had difficult actually entering Orange house and finding Stella (the owner). I would strongly advise you get very precise directions for your arrival to ensure smooth and easeful travels.

Stella was wonderful: pragmatic, helpful, engaged, so kind and maternally attentive with everything from feeding us bread and ham when we arrived after everything was closed, 23 hours in transit from the US to loaning us needle and thread for our own repairs. Her breakfasts delicious. Her manner, bruskly loving.

the rooms themselves were a little dated, but that doesn't really matter - they were clean, private, quiet, and comfortable, and a good value

Fantastic service from Pirelli, who was an excellent communicator giving us all the info we needed to arrive. He even met us at the train station and walked us to our room. Also, the breakfasts were lovely and the cook was very sweet and hospitable. I loved the privacy of the breakfast where it was just my wife and I.

Fewer steps to the property. Any disabled person would find access impossible.

The breakfast was incredible and there was great attention to pleasing the client. My birthday happened on one of our stay days and I was presented with a lighted candle on a splendid fruit tart! All aspects of our stay were memorable.

The place is small and they don't have space to store your luggage if you arrive before check in, they specify this in booking, but we didn't actually see it. The bathroom is private but is outside the room, but for the price is a good place to stay in Varenna.
