We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

GermanyIt was slightly difficult to work out the parking system as there was no reply by the owner to my messages. Parking was in front of the building and sadly, my car was badly scratched by another car at some point in the night, which of course is not the owner’s fault.

AustriaNo hooks in the bathroom to hang up towels. Thin walls so had to ask other guests to please be quiet after midnight. Complete self check-in so very impersonal and it meant we had to send copies of our IDs via WhatsApp or email, which I am not totally comfortable with. Then again self check-in is handy for some people, so depends on what you're looking for.
The place served our purpose, as we were looking for something close to the train station and only for one night. It was clean and the bed very comfortable. I would however not recommend it for a longer stay, as the neighborhood is not appealing, it's very noisy and it's practical but nothing beyond.

United KingdomThe communication through booking.com was poor. They didn’t get back to me when I asked where I would leave my case. It was extremely noisy, we could hear other rooms flushing their toilet. At one point a buzzer kept going off late at night, it was irritating and made us feel unsafe. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, the cleaning staff were very friendly but clearly didn’t have enough time to clean all the rooms thoroughly. It definitely wasn’t worth the money we paid.
It was close to the station and the cleaning staff were friendly and polite. He allowed us to leave our case early and offered to carry our case up the stairs.
