How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBreakfast decent Room needs more cleaning and air-condition should run always if patrons needs it regardless of the season. Room was warm, and we asked how to turn the air-condition on, we were told due to the cooler weather outside air-condition has been turn off. We were told to open the windows to get the cooler air from the outside. Bull S--T. location is way deep in the city. You can't have excess unless you have a car or taxi. We are not sure we will stay there again.
Ambience, cleanliness, location..
Dear guest, we regret to read that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. First of all I want to remark that what you write isn't kind to us. You should use more polite words. Second: what we said is the truth. You came in october, outside there were 14 degrees and it was raining, in your room there were 22.5 degrees. In such a situation we turn air-conditioning off simply beacause nobody needs it , but you. You needed air conditionnig but you were wearing a jacket. Referring to the location, we are really close to the old city and we don't understad what was your problem. Just 5 minutes drive and you are in the old town. If you had reserved in the city center you probably would have used the same car park. Anyway: the next time you reserve a room somewhere we suggest you should check and double check the exact location. In 2024 you can. Best regards.

Verified reviewThe hotel was once quite grand but now we'll past it's best. The tree lined Avenue has a derelict building on one side and a football pitch in the other. It would appear to cater for religious groups. You could not sit on the toilet without your knees and head touching the shower cubicle.

Verified reviewThe staff was very polite. The hotel has a free car parking. It is located 7 minutes driving from Orvieto center. The hotel is old, but clean and well-groomed. Everything was fine, as expected.

Verified reviewGiven the vicinity of the hotel to the highway it would have been a good place to stay the night if one is driving long distance. I tried but didn’t get the night’s rest I paid for. There was a party close to the hotel which prevented me from sleeping. After trying till 01:00 I decided to leave. Didn’t find anybody at the reception so left the key there. I tried but didn’t get a refund, although I didn’t get what I paid for. The hotel management was disrespectful in their messaging and didn’t even get an apology. I wouldn’t recommend it.
You rated us 1 because there was a festival in the public garden near the hotel. I just want to remark that we weren't responsable for this festival , we didn't organize this festival, the festival wasn't in our hotel. The organizers had all the permissions required and when you left (at 01.00) the music was about to stop (because they had authorization for a few hours). We don't think our messages were unpolite. In these messages we apologized for the music that prevented you from sleeping, but we remarked that it wasn't our fault.

Verified reviewView from window is really good. Room size pretty good, parking facility also good and breakfast also for value for money. Nice and clean room and bedsheets. They also provided extra pillow and duvet.
Shower is small size and AC is not working properly just normal noisy fan work
