Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Such an amazing hotel. The rooms are really big and spacious and overlooking the Piazza, where there were plenty of bars and restaurants. Centrally located, within walking distance to all the usual sightseeing spots. The breakfast was fantastic on the rooftop overlooking the Piazza with loads of choice. The lift is absolutely fine (previous reviews say they didn't like it) it was perfect in keeping with the old building. Would 100% stay there again

United StatesThe wait for the elevator when someone doesn't close the door but that's not their fault being a historical property. Worth the issue for everything else
Breakfast was good! Happy hour was good! View was incredible!

United StatesLike many hotels in Italy, the elevators can be a little quirky, so we ended up taking the stairs a fair amount. It's just added a few extra steps to all the walking we did all over Rome.
I travel a lot for my job and stay in hotels all the time, and Navona 49 is one of my all-time favorites. The location on Piazza Navona was wonderful, with a beautiful view and plenty of great people watching in the plaza below. It's walking distance to many of top sites in Rome and the breakfast, while simple, was a nice way to start our day. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms spacious and clean. I definitely will stay again next time I'm in Rome.

United StatesIt is an old historic hotel built over a Roman arena. They have installed n elevator which is a little quirky but usable. The only drawback was that you have to go up about 8 steps to get to the elevator. The stay here was well worth that small inconvenience.
The view and location are spectacular!! You couldn't find a better one!! Breakfast on the terrace was yummy with lots of choices and a beautiful view. We had a really early morning tour one day and the hotel brought us some breakfast foods the night before.

AustraliaNothing… except the elevator is old and a little scary but still works fine 😂 also the aircon was doing just enough to be comfortable but it was obvious this was not the usual standard as hotel staff went out of their way to ensure we had extra fans provided and an ac technician came by on the last day to check the issue. But nothing that ruined the trip. I would still recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Roma.
This hotel was beyond exceptional! It had the most incredible views of the piazza Navona. Breakfast was on the rooftop terrace and our room had the most view too. The from the elevator you could also see the ancient ruins of the stadio that lies beneath the piazza. A history buffs dream hotel! All amenities were great and the staff went out of their way to make our Roma experience truly once in a lifetime.

Excellent hotel in a fantastic location, we had a two bedroom room which was brilliant as we were travelling with a teenager. The free mini bar was a bonus. Breakfast on the terrace was a joy. Couldn’t fault it and would definitely re book here.

United StatesThe only problem we had was that the AC was out in our room the very first night. The staff gave us a fan but they had no other rooms to give us. They accommodated us with a discount and fantastic room the next evening. It was all taken care of to our satisfaction.
Our favorite part was the breakfast and apertivo included in our price. The terrace overlooks the Piazza Navona and was just a lovely view with an amazing breakfast! Apertivo each evening was 5 to 8 so you could pop up for an aperol spritz or wine. Our rooms were lovely and very accomodating. Also the staff was impeccable to say the least!
