How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Our room was facing the street and the amount of noise is incredible, we struggled to sleep because of this as we could hear everyone heading or going out of a night club around the corner
It is a clean stay and near to a lot of things.

extremely noisy road below. with closed windows, the smell of humidity was persistent for all night.

Noisy not very comfortable bed . No lift, not good for heavy suitcases.

It was very noisy at night. With the windows shut you could still hear everything outside. Never met the host as all communication was via WhatsApp.
Location was great, very close to everything. Bed was comfy. Quick communication between host.

Shower was a real letdown for the rest of the room. Drain was blocked so it felt more like a bath after the first 60 seconds (otherwise room and bathroom were clean, but this was unpleasant), and the fitting for the shower head was broken so it wouldn't stay up.
Excellent central location, good size (for central Florence), well appointed room with mostly modern bathroom, easy to access and clear communication.

It can be very noisy at night. Closing the windows helps reduce the external noise, but the AC is very noisy.

we’ve never seen any staff and had to call/text them to get in the building and later to get into the room. there was just 1 toilet paper roll, so we had to take the paper towels from the common area in the end. we never managed to figure out how the ac works or even how to turn it off - it seems to be quite old.
the location is great with most major sights 5-15 minutes away. there is a fridge and a microwave in the common area. the bed was comfortable and the ac mostly worked. also the room didn’t look as nice as the photos do.

Walls had several dead mosquitoes on them and I got bitten quite a bit. Windows weren’t opened since the window shelves(?) were full of tiny orange insects all over that made me panic at the thought of opening them.
Good location and quick answers via whatsapp. Awesome birthday surprise!

Bathroom needs renovation. Walls have holes and are dirty. Not enough amenities in the bathroom.
Location is great. Mary is very nice and helpful with a lot of recommendations! She is definitely a plus for this place.

anyway it was soooo incredibly loud outside that sleeping was not an option. Noise from bars and streets nearby was unbearable till 5AM. Closed window did not make any difference. So, if you are going to party all night and go to sleep after 5AM, then it is a good idea to stay in the area :)
First of all - check-in. You need to remember to contact owner via phone/whatsupp to get inside the building. There is no one inside for most of the time, so banging on doors will not help. Owner writes back very quickly, but it is good to know procedure from beginning. Rooms are a bit small, but comfy. Air conditioning works. Location is fantastic - close enough to all main attractions and far enough from main streets, but...

The AC is very loud.
It is close to the historical attractions, only 16 minutes even to the train station. Owner gave me some local recommendations which are very good.

The common area was a bit clogged therefore didn’t look very clean

The room itself is clean and safe, but it's extremely warm and the lights are very bad. The entrance up to the rooms is like waking through a dungeon. It's horrible. Once inside the apartment, it's like being in a hostel only everybody has an individual room. Location is good and room overall is fine.

It was my first time here and enjoyed my stay. We had a misunderstanding about the room/number of beds that was kindly and efficiently solved in a short time. The area is an area where I always stay in Florence, close enough to the Duomo, but far enough to runaway from the crowds. The only "problem" is if you have large/heavy luggage is that, as in many ancient buildings in Florence, there is no lift, Otherwise, it is great for a stay in Florence.
