How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Verified reviewGreat location and a charming flat. Air con was appreciated and worked well. Vittoria did well to communicate and did well to tell us the tricks of the apartment - e.g. the toilet & not to touch the hot water switches.
The washing machine needs replacing. I wouldn’t stay another day longer without this, especially in summer! The kitchen sink had no hot water. We boiled a kettle to wash up. (I hope the previous tenants and cleaners did the same???) The flat was marked down on cleanliness for that reason as this could be a hygiene issue.

Minimal accommodation, facilities barely work (toilet, faucet sinks). Would be nice to have newer furniture, or at least better mattress and couch. A functional washing machine would be nice.

The main concern was bathroom. The wooden flooring was rotting away at the shower, the shower itself didn’t have constant hot water as it would go from freezing cold to burning every 10-20 seconds and the shower head was broken and didn’t spray water correctly as it would spray painfully in the middle and drip out the side.

Verified reviewGreat location, only a short walk from Termini and the main attractions. A small grocery store right around the corner. The apartment is quite small for three persons but everything is very clean and there's coffee and tea available as well as hygiene products. The host met us on time and gave us tips about where to go.
Beds were very uncomfortable, we slept quite badly. The water temperature in the shower changed all of a sudden to very hot or cold, couldn't control it. Also the bathroom floor looked like it had got wet many times and hadn't dried properly. Only one coffee cup available for 3.

The beds were absolutely awful. We booked it because of the pull out couch and they wouldn’t even give us sheets or blanket for it. As well we quickly ran out of toilet paper and there was no extra rolls and they wanted to charge us 36 euros to give us more toilet paper. Worst place I’ve ever stayed. It also smelled absolutely terrible. They left wet umbrellas at the front door. Extremely disappointed with my stay. Strongly discourage anybody else from ever staying with these horrible hosts in this awful apartment.

We would like to clarify a few points for future clarity: the pull-out couch is indeed available, but as stated in the listing and during our communication, bed linen is provided based on the number of guests booked. If additional linens or services are requested outside the standard setup, an extra fee applies, as is common in many short-term rentals. Regarding the toilet paper, we provide a starter kit to cover the first days of your stay. Additional supplies, as mentioned in the house manual, are the guest’s responsibility beyond that initial stock. We always try to be transparent and fair in how we manage extras and logistics. As for the odor and wet umbrellas at the entrance, we take cleanliness and comfort seriously, and we regret that you encountered this situation. Had you contacted us during your stay, we would have gladly addressed it immediately. We understand that not every stay is perfect, and we're continuously working to improve based on constructive feedback. The toilet flush took some skills to get working but this didn’t detract from the stay in any way.

Verified reviewThe location was incredible, very easy walk to the main touristic points. The beds were comfy even the pull out couch. The communication with our host was also great, they were very responsive and even offered to come by to check out the oven which wasn't working.
The bathroom was very small for 4 people and was constantly leaking, we couldnt tell where it was coming from, and so the entire bathroom floor was just wet the entire time. The oven also didnt work and the walls were very thin so we heard drunk neighbours come home which woke us up. Lastly, it was unclear through the photos that the bedroom didnt have a door, so its more of a studio layout which was a bit awkward as we were hoping for more privacy.

Verified reviewLocation was excellent,could walk everywhere. Comfortable beds. Children enjoyed Netflix on the TV. We had a problem with shower not draining but we contacted the host and they arranged for it to be plunged. Good air conditioning.
No hot water in kitchen, we had to boil the jug to do our dishes. No tea towels to dry our dishes. No toaster. No lift to carry heavy suitcases up stairs but we managed ok.

Verified reviewLocation is superb, located really close to the Termini and a walking distance to the main attractions, rooms were clean and communication with the host was fast.
I slept in the sofa bed and it wasn't really comfortable, other than that the place was great!
