How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Perhaps a variation with respect to the breakfast.
Breakfast was good. Coffee excellent. The staff are very kind and care for their customers.

Christina sent all the details of the location promptly. Anything you wanted she would go out of her way to help if it could be done. Breakfast was exceptional. Rooms spacious and very clean., Perfect location to get to Lake Como. Only ten minutes on local bus that is close by. The train station in walking distance. Highly recommend a stay, Christina makes you feel like her Casa is your Casa. Truly great stay.

We booked this hotel as a stop from our way back from vacation in the South. The owner is super friendly & welcomed us with a big smile. She also helped us a lot with securing a parking spot for my car, which is slightly bigger than the average Italian car. The room is basic, but clean. Located close to Como, only 5min drive with my car. Breakfast was great. Typical Italian breakfast, so good cappuccino, croissant, bread & a toast.. Perfect to start the day.

No negative feedback.
We needed secure parking for our scooter as we were touring across Europe ( weather permitting) The hotel had a private car park at the back and so we could rest easy knowing that all was well. We were warmly greeted by lovely Christina! Such a lovely cheerful and helpful lady who is multilingual. Our room was spacious and clean and was refreshed every day. The shower had good pressure ,speaking as a woman with thick hair! The simple continental breakfast was nice. Christina was also on hand to serve drinks at the in house bar :) I would recommend Hotel Milano as a place to stay.

Not really didn’t like… The family room is very nice. It’s just, I prefer to have a shower with hose but overall it was a nice place.

A bit too far to walk into Como
Hotel was clean, welcoming and good value for a two star hotel - we were pleasantly surprised. It was a good choice for an overnight stop and especially so as we only booked it an hour before we arrived; we were a little apprehensive with it being two stars but it really wasn’t a problem at all. The secure parking was an added bonus as was the breakfast. This is a lovely little hotel, run by a welcoming family who are more than helpful with advice on the area etc. We took the bus down to the lake for €5 (for two) and we got a taxi back which cost €20. This was a very pleasant comfortable stay. We would stay here again if in the area.

we remain silent about the subject
a simple, but filling continental brekky. Receptionist very helpful and friendly, also served breakfasts. the cable car ride was fantastic, and then to have a reasonably priced meal on the mountain top with spectacular views, perfect. Also a good bus service.

The location, close to the train and bus stations. Great hospitality and comunication with the owner. Very functional room and bathroom. Everything is clean. Extra comfortable new bed, new covers and new pillows. Sincere recommendation.
