How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed at Mia Palace in Florence for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. Nádia was incredibly friendly and always ready with valuable tips for our visit, which made our stay even better. Everything was spotless, well-organized, and in perfect condition. The location is excellent, with brand-new, high-quality bed linen and an outstanding breakfast each morning. For those concerned about parking, I used a private parking garage just an 8-minute walk from Mia Palace, but there’s also plenty of street parking available nearby. I highly recommend this place, and if I return to Florence, I already know where I’ll be staying!
Grazieeeeee

Verified reviewThis was my worst experience booking through Booking.com. We were given a different room than the one shown in the photos, and it was terrible. Room no. 10, 2nd floor. Avoid this accommodation at all costs. I expected something basic because of the lower price, but this was a shock. It smelled bad, was dirty, full of mold and mosquitoes. Unfortunately, we had a tight schedule and no time to complain on the spot, and we stayed just one night — a night I won’t forget. The only positive: the bed linen and towels were clean — but that should be a given. I will be filing a complaint with Booking.com.
Guest Josef simply not arrived ans asked a full refound on the same day since he wanted cancel for free.

Verified reviewAwesome, helpful lady that we met after first night. Close to the hotel is a bus stop with line 12 going to city centre and Piazzale Michelangelo.
Parking is perhaps free in the white lines but it’s meant for residents only. Luckily during our stay our car was not towed nor was we fined. Room number 6 is situated towards bussy street with poor sound proofing windows so if you get room n.6 either ask for different room or be prepared to not sleep much during night. Nice lady from the first morning saved us tho and arranged room change.

Verified reviewThe staff member who is at the property in the mornings was WONDERFUL. She has great suggestions of places to eat that even after more than 25+ visits to Florence, I had not heard of. I asked the property via the email option to refund my city tax since I lost nearly $400 us to leave 2 days early. I understand what 'non refundable' means but they didnt pay the tax for a vacant room and could have rebooked it over the busy weekend in Florence. I saw two cafes on the road in front of the property. The one along the river was a great way to spend time as the Italians do. No tourists. Have a coffee or an afternoon beer, sit under a tree and relax. No one rushes you to leave and I expect some of the locals spend the afternoon here. the cafe just outside the city gate, looked appealing but on a Sunday it was too crowded to find a table............
I spent an afternoon searching for the bnb since I would be dragging luggage across Florence the weekend I planned to stay here. I read reviews carefully since I travel 30 to 45 days at time and have never stayed here before. NOTE: if you can not carry your luggage up two flights of steep stairs, you may have trouble. This is a residential neighborhood and the main street can be busy. The riverside street is VERY loud in the mornings. I only walked from the center of Florence to the property so I do not know if there are restaurants/bars etc farther out. I do know I would not take the tram at night even though there is a stop not very far from the property...............there are homeless people using the park but I did see the police move them out the morning I left the hotel The shower door in my bathroom did NOT work. The very kind woman who set up breakfast and cleans the property was able to get it to open so I could finally shower and leave the property. apparently it has been broken for some time. second floor, room at the end of the hall. Plan to call for a taxi if you need one, I didnt seen any taxi stands on the main road.
