How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was good.
Excellent location. Great host communication. Very generous breakfast. Rooms had some really cool furnishings. Enjoyed using the balcony to watch everyday steetlife going on below.

Excellent location and communication with Pier. Good size and lots of snacks. Right next to the central Bari train/bus. Perfect for us.

Clean and spacious room with a nice seating area on the enclosed balcony with a dining table, refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and kettle. Lots of snacks and drinks provided free of charge. Pier was very friendly and accommodating . He answered any texts and inquiries promptly. Very close to the train station and to restaurants, cafes and shopping.

Well designed and imaginative. Close to the station and an easy walk along the main avenue into the old town. Good facilities for taking breakfast with coffee machine and kettle. It was easy to access when we arrived. Pier looked after us well.

More light by the bed to read. Figuring out keys is always a little complicated in Europe.
Great location a minute away from the train station, but around 20 blocks from the historic center. Large room with separate kitchen. Nice to have coffee, tea, juice, water and crackers and biscuits as well as yogurt available in the kitchen when first arriving.

I ended up choosing the wrong room which made my stay uncomfortable. The room was dusty. Visibly on the furniture. I rented the property with the air conditioning available. However, I was informed that I could not turn it on because it was already the coldest period (average temperature of 20 degrees). Normally, I believe that the person who should decide whether to use it or not is the customer. We had to sleep with the balcony doors open. This situation made us uncomfortable. Unfortunately the bathroom had a strong smell of urine. It was not cleaned properly.
The breakfast was very good as promised. The towels were spotless. Pier was an excellent host.

Italians don't understand breakfast; it's a cultural thing. When you can't get either cereal or eggs or bacon, or even cheese and cold cuts, it ain't breakfast. This B&B is hardly unique in that respect, but just be prepared to go out if you want an actual breakfast. The main challenge in our brief stay was returning to the B&B to pick up our stored luggage. Pier offers that service to his guests, but the rooms are in a high-rise building that you can enter only when someone inside buzzes the main door on the street to open. We were unable to reach him on WhatsApp (that's how he wants to be contacted) when we came to collect our bags. Fortunately, another person was able to give us access, but the experience was stressful. Pier needs a better solution.
Just a block from the main rail station in Bari, this is an ideal location. The host, Pier, is very friendly and thorough. The room is exquisitely designed for both eco-friendly and artsy guests (of which we are neither), more so in fact than any other place I've ever stayed at. Some of the appliances and decorations are beyond original and clever. Guests who want that sort of thing will not likely be disappointed in the least. For us, it was educational and a bit amusing. On a more practical note, the bed is very comfortable, the A/C very efficient, and the complimentary snacks and drinks are abundant and varied.

No reception desk (yet the owner is accessible through whatsapp). The kitchenette and dining table are located on the balcony (quite hot in summer).
Bed and breakfast next to the train station. Quiet room overlooking a parking lot (the rooms overlooking the garden are probably noiser). Decent breakfast served in the room from 7:30. Coffee machine and electric tea pot with coffee and tea.

It would have been nice to have a proper mug or disposable cup for our coffee the plastic throw away cups didn't really work that well.
This B&B is 5mins walk from Bari central Station and we had a late flight to there and just wanted somewhere near the station so we could get the early train to Matera. the owner was very helpful with train time ect. The break was adequate and there were hot pastries left outside our door for us.

Because all staff interactions were remote, the hotel didn't have a personality per se, but I was just looking for something easy for one night and this did just that.
My flight arrived at midnight and I just needed a room for one night in Bari before driving to Ostuni the next day. Room just as advertised, nothing more or less. Clean, centrally located and quiet with AC and a comfy bed. Check-in all done remote (no front desk staff), and very responsive on Whatsapp, even after midnight. Self-service breakfast available in the room on the balcony with fridge, kettle, coffee maker etc. Paid parking garage one block away, and hotel was centrally located. Ability to do paid locked luggage storage around the corner from the hotel.
