bathroom very small and a bit dated but shower worked well! I would get rid of the old rusty hotel sign as it makes the hotel look old fashioned and under invested

There was an odour at times from the bathroom.

Location was excellent with great views and beautiful landscaping. The pool was nice for a refreshing swim and lounging after a busy day.

I found the older man (perhaps the owner) at the reception a little rude.. he was constantly shushing one of the female workers in reception while I was organising another night’s stay, which made me feel a little uncomfortable

The hotel is certainly old and the bathrooms in particular could do with an upgrade. However it does have an older charm and provided you are prepared for some older facilities (eg. the lift is tiny) then you will still enjoy! The view, location and pool outweighs the dated facilities.

What a wonderful stay! The view from this hotel never gets old. We paid for a sea view room and would highly recommend, definitely worth it. We enjoyed finishing our nights with Prosecco on the balcony! Aircon worked well. The breakfast was great with lots of options. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. Very hard working! The pool was excellent. No issues finding sun beds and such a stunning view. We also made use of the sister beach hotel which is incredibly good value for the beach lounges and transport (€9 per person) The beach is private and we preferred it to the other main beaches in Taormina! A huge plus of this hotel. We loved the location. It’s close enough to the action about a 10 minute walk downstairs. Excellent food options nearby. Definitely better to stay up the hill than down at the beach from our perspective!

The view was exceptional. All the staff were extremely helpful in every way. We used the shuttle service to the beach and were able to walk into the centre of Taormina easily.

- [ ] Breakfast was ok, was not really anything special. it filled the hunger before venturing off to have lunch later in the day. We can not comment on the lunch or dinner offerings as we went out of the hotel for food and drinks. (No judgement to the hotel just that it is Italy and the food is amazing , so wanted to try as many places as possible :D) - [ ] There is certain things that should be updated with age. For example the aircon is so so very loud. As soon as you turn it up it makes an awful rattling noise. Occasionally an egg type smell would come from the aircon, but it would not last long. The shower screen is very old and could do with an upgrade. The shower pressure on occasions was very very strong, to the point the shower experience was not always comfortable. - [ ] I did not like that it stated that ‘we cannot put our own things into the mini fridge and it will be taken without notice if seen to do so’ . Thought this was a bizarre concept. - [ ] The only 4 star I think we have stayed in where there is not a tea/coffee facilities inside the room.

We love Italy, a country we have travelled a a lot of. Taormina and this hotel lived up to expectations. We would stay here again and we would also recommend to friends and family to stay here too. Thank-you for a lovely stay. - [ ] Beautiful views, surrounding the hotel, from the room, to the hotel terrace, to entrance to the hotel, to the pool area. Views can not be questioned, just stunning. - [ ] Pool area was lovely, probably one of the most relaxing ones we have experienced, surrounded by the beautiful views and a lovely garden. Giving a really relaxing atmosphere. pool is also very well maintained. - [ ] We loved the nature feel of the hotel, plants and greenery spotted around inside and outside the hotel. - [ ] I like that they have kept the antique feel of the hotel throughout. - [ ] The staff overall were polite and welcoming and courteous. The housekeeping staff were fantastic very polite and sociable and did a great job doing the room each day. - [ ] The sister hotel private beach is nice, if you want a non crowded experience at the beach. Also the shore isn’t as rocky as the other beaches which is good. - [ ] We was on second floor, a stunning terrace with spectacular views. However we would have liked a bit more privacy from the neighbouring rooms. They have bushes In plant pots to separate the terrace areas but not enough for privacy.

The elevator is very small and slow.

I didn't realize how many steps were involved climbing up to the hotel, which we did all the time as Taormina is all hills. But, once there, in our balcony room, the view was amazing. The water and Mount Etna views were stunning. The breakfast area was also beautiful and another great view. The pool and garden were hard to resist so we did spend some time there as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and they made sure that we were always taken care of. We would stay there again.

There's a 50s/60s vibe about the place which is quite charming, but the facilities need a little updating.

The hotel is a little dated compared to many other four star hotels, particularly in terms of bathroom fittings, etc. That said, everything worked okay and was kept clean.

The location is wonderful. Great views of the sea and of Mount Etna and only a five minute walk to the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
