How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe host (Sonya) provided more breakfast and more breakfast options than we could consume. Breakfast (or wine in the evening) on the terrace was absolutely wonderful. The host was an invaluable source of information and helped us get to and from the Amalfi ferry with minimal drama. However what we appreciated most of all was that rooms and the common areas were spotless!
Too many stairs! (just kidding!) All the costal hillside towns have plenty of stairs. The joke in our family is that there is no "down" only "up". Just be prepared and the views and breeze are worth it.

Verified reviewFirst of all, it's in Atrani, which I loved, great inexpensive restaurants nearby, all very good. Second, for Atrani, not so many steps to get there. The facilities are excellent, the AC marvelous (not guaranteed in Italy), Sonia is very helpful, the place is super clean and organized. As a bonus there is a terrace that looks out on the most interesting cliff I have ever seen, with all sorts of caves, constructions, etc.
I would have preferred it if our belongings had not been "put away", but I understand that neatness is super important for some people.

Verified reviewExtremely clean Very good breakfast Great location, near the beach and walking distance to Amalfi
Before the check-out hour, while we were having breakfast, the owner entered our room, without asking for permission, starting to remove the towels and sheets.

Verified reviewI just loved Atrani and Sonia's place in the village. It's close to everything, just a short walk to the village square and the beach. We have the room with the loft and it was plenty of space for the two of us and or daughter. I loved having the window open to hearing the voices of people passing by or closing it and sleeping deeply with the AC. Sonia was a wonderful host. She is so caring and does everything she can to make her guests feel comfortable. We plan on coming back to Atrani and staying with Sonia again some day.

Verified reviewWe loved being based in Atrani- 10 min walk to Amalfi so close to the ferry port and buses. Breakfast was abundant and really tasty. Appreciated being able to leave our luggage for a bit after checking out.
Our room was quite small but no issue as we only needed to sleep there - the large shared balcony is always open if you want to sit and have a drink. Cleaning is done daily and things were moved and tidied. Not really an issue but sometimes we felt it was a little intrusive. Listing shows washing machine is included though there’s a charge of 5€ per load.

Verified reviewFrom first contact to the day we left the staff were absolutely fabulous couldn’t do enough for us information when we arrived was very helpful. The room had everything you would need including a small bar fridge breakfast on the terrace each morning was fabulous. The views were beautiful. The steps to the apartments are not as bad as we expected and the location in the centre of the village was very nice. We were able to use the owners parking garage at a small extra cost as the village is sealed off in the evenings. The village is only a few minutes walk by a tunnel way to Amalfi, which was nice for the day trip.

Verified reviewSonia and Marie were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They provided information on ferry schedules and getting around in general. Breakfast each day was delicious- home made breads and cakes, fruit, meat and cheese, etc. The location is great as only a 10 minute walk to Amalfi and access to ferries.

Verified reviewMaria and Sonia were super friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony towards the mountains was beautiful. We left early on our last day and the host gave us breakfast to take away, which was very kind!
The room had little to no daylight (which is probably expected in Atrani, as the whole village is tucked away in the cliffs). It was also a bit noisy as the building is quite old and you could hear the people talking on the street. It's quite pricey for what you get, but I guess that's reality on the Amalfi Coast in general.

Verified reviewVery nice breakfast on communal balcony with fantastic view of hills. Nice room. Clean. Beach towels provided. Very good location - very close to Piazza Umberto and beach , bus . Atrani is a lovely place to stay. Great restaurants in Piazza Umberto , 10 mins walk to very busy Amalfi . Need to go to Amalfi for ferry . I recommend to walk to Castiglione beach for swim. 10 to 15 mins walk. Quite a few steps down (150 ish) but very nice beach , surrounded by high cliffs and not busy.
Aircon worked but just. Dont rely on google maps as it sends you to wrong door. Maria will probably meet you in Piazza . The bells do ring every 15 mins 24 hours but you can just hear them in room and they didnt disturb our sleep.
