How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The bathroom was very small, and the toilet was very loud. We had a balcony, but it was a shared balcony with another room, so we couldn’t leave the doors open at night.
The host is very friendly and the location of the hotel is fantastic!

The facilities were a little old but didn't affect our 2 night stay.
Perfect, quiet location near the train station and close to many sightseeings. The host was very polite and helpful.

Check in was slightly odd with the gentleman on reception shouting ‘hello’ from the window when you buzz the intercom. Not a big deal though.l as it was smooth when I was let inside. Room faced onto busy street so bring ear plugs.
I stayed in a room with private bathroom, it was very spacious and comfortable. The staff on reception were very friendly. Shower was good. The air condition helped with the hot weather. Short walk from train station and all the main attractions of Florence.

The electric toilet, as it made a lot of noise and turned itself on in the middle of the night.

Florence is hot and humid in the summer months and a little more air conditioning for sleeping would be nice, but I understand this is an older building and may not be able to be set up for this.
The hotel was very close to the train station and in a great location, just off Piazza Santa Maria Novella. and seeing the church there was one of my favorites during our trip. The host was very nice and speaks a little broken English if your Italian is not very good and that is helpful. The room was adequate with two twin beds and a private bathroom. We were there the beginning of June and it was hot. There was an air conditioner over the door and it worked somewhat. There is a small balcony and it was nice to be able to open the doors and step outside if we wanted. Overall, it was a fair room in a great location.

The hotel is really dark, the shower box is really small, no elevator for guests so you gotta go up the stairs with the luggage.
The location. That is pretty much what we liked there, also the staff made our check in and check out easy. They also have air conditioning in the room, that's positive.

The towels.

The staff were excellent. Forgot was a shared bathroom, even though you have own shower, but wasn't a problem. Staff really friendly and helpful. It's a great location and they looked after our bags all day after check out. We had fabulous day in Florence then went and picked up bags and a 5 min walk to train station and on to Naples

Great value for money, super close to the train station. Walking to all attractions take about 10 mins or less. Staffs is great with hospitality. Will stay here again next time in Florence.

I would prefer better, absorbing towels than the offered cotton- linen ones. There are not adequate electricity plugs in the room.
Perfect location in the centre of Firenze, near the railway. Most of sightseeing places in walking distance. The staff warm, welcoming and very helpful to meet any needs. I would stay again happily!

Nothing . If you’re a light sleeper , you may need earplugs , as expected you can hear people in neighbouring properties and noise from the street .
I expected to share a bathroom but had a shower in my room which was much appreciated. Great location . Welcoming staff . Able to hold my bags till check in so that o could go out and explore the city .

The room we were staying in was close to the reception and the cleaning area so we could hear everything and it can be very noisy in the morning, not sound proofed at all
The location was amazing, can walk to most things easily and lots of restaurants around. Clean room, felt comfortable, friendly staff
