Internet didn't work on the 3rd floor. And the fire alarm went off twice during the night. Maybe there was a technical glitch or someone was smoking in the room. But it's good that there is an alarm. But overall it's a great hotel.

We were situated on the ground floor and so was noisy from the hotel kitchen. You should limit expectations for the breakfast included.

Breakfast wasn't for me, eating pasta and pizza and lot of breads isn't my preference. But they do eggs and bacon and you can get yogurts, fruit and take some cake for your room later in the day.

Very good location, walking distance from the waterfront and Colico train station. Staff really helpful and even provided me with a paper guide of where to visit in Bellano, Menaggio and Bellagio.

I booked a single room so a single bed is what I could expect; it was confortable but the bed size seems to be outdated. Very minor point, it is just a suggestion.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff very kind. The interaction with the staff gave a family feeling not common these days. it was very appreciated.

The first thing I didnt like about Hotel Lago di Como is the extremely dated interior. The entire place needs a facelift. The decor, the furniture, everything looked tired and in need of retirement. Bidets should be replaced with wall-mounted pipes to open up the bathroom space, and there should be a coffee machine in the bedrooms. The second thing I didnt like about the Hotel was that the staff did not inform us that ordering food to our room incurred a hefty charge. We came back exhausted from a whole day of travel, and were too tired to go out and eat, so we called reception and asked them if we could order from their restaurant but eat in our room. At that point they should have been transparent and told us about the extra expense so we could have made an informed decision. But instead we got a shock when we were checking out. Just something to be aware of in the future.

The best thing about Hotel Lago di Como is its location. It's walking distance from the train station. It's walking distance from the pier. It's walking distance from the lake. It's walking distance from the gelato shops and a small supermarket. And its off the beaten track, since Colico isnt much of a tourist hotspot, which means its not crawling with tourists yet its very easy to get to the touristy places like Menaggio and Bellagio via the ferry. The second best thing about the hotel is that it has ACs in the rooms. In the searing heat of Italy, that was a MUST. Third, the bathroom was reasonably modern and well equipped. The shower was great. Fourth, the breakfast though not fabulous at least had a good amount of variety so there was something for everyone. Fifth, we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel all 3 nights and while it was nothing to write home about it was decent. Finally, the staff were friendly, which meant a lot to us as this was our first time in Italy and we dont speak the language and we really stood out as foreigners.

I think the room was somewhat too tiny. Furniture a bit of old. But for one night sleep was ok.

The location is very favorable. Few minutes walking from the railway station. There is a restaurant offering food until about 23 in the evening.

Can hear the main road noise even though the hotel is set back a bit from the road and our room was facing the quieter side. One of the hotel guests was particularly loud and noisy during the night which impacted our sleep quality which is not really the hotel’s fault.

Conveniently close to the railway station (which met our need for a short overnight stay to avoid the rockfall impacting the railway service closer to Varenna). Room was available at short notice in the evening and the staff were excellent in accommodating our check in / check out needs including setting up for a slightly earlier breakfast for us before we left.

Nobody warned us about the party that took place in the hotel restaurant on Sunday evening. The party was over at 2 a.m.. We were exosted after the flight and especially that on Monday early morning we had to get up for work.

Localisation of the Hotel is very good. All staff very helpfull and nice. Various breakfast.

Small, cozy and quiet hotel in the city center. Close to shops, restaurants and the lake. Clean rooms. Great breakfast. Great service from all the staff. I will definitely come back again.
