How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery aggressive and violet host, NOT SAFE environment They trapped us and kept our money even though they couldn’t accommodate us. The room is in the host and his wife house
We arrived at 21:20 and the host shouted at us because he was sleeping and he had to wake up. He refused us to stay because he had overbooking and he was not expecting us. He said we will get a refund if we leave but he scammed us and make a fake accusation that we did not show our passports. We did have a passport with us and they never asked to see it. We lost all the money that we paid and had to call the police because they were threatening us and shouting to leave the place. At the end we left because we were not feeling safe and because we had no choice. It was late and very difficult to find alternative accommodation when we find somewhere to stay it was already 5am. I’m still waiting for the police report and a follow up with booking.com and the local council.
Good evening! You showed up at 10:20 PM, which was past the check-in time, not at 9:20 PM as you maliciously wrote. However, this wasn't an issue. It's not true that there was an overbooking. The apartment was available for you, and the police noted this in their official report, which is an undeniable fact. The same goes for the check-in registration; you refused to provide your passports. When asked to lower your voice since other guests were sleeping, you replied, "I paid, so I make the rules." You also said, "I'm not giving you my passports because I'm requesting a cancellation and I'll speak to Booking." You did everything on your own, and since you couldn't force us to give you a free cancellation through Booking, you tried with the police, but you didn't succeed. You were crossing the line of legality. For over two hours, you were making noise, disturbing and frightening the other sleeping guests, and keeping us and the police up until exhaustion (past midnight), trying to explain that you couldn't force anyone—not us, not Booking, and not the police—to grant you a free cancellation. That requires the owner's consent based on the specific circumstances, and if consent isn't voluntary, it's coercion. In this specific case, it was an attempted coercion, which is illegal. I urge you to respect the rules of civil coexistence, everywhere you go. Paying for a service doesn't negate this important obligation to enjoy the service without disturbing others or causing harm. To this day, I still don't know who the four men in my home were, as they never gave me their documents. When asked again to be quiet so as not to disturb those who were sleeping, the man who was speaking in Italian replied, "I don't care," and continued to raise his voice even more. For the record, Booking's customer service was notified in real time, and we always acted according to the law and in compliance with Booking's rules. I reserve the right to protect my rights for all the damages I have suffered.

There were hot water for one human work shower so that another person could shower had to wait another half an hour (the apartment owner explained that it was a point problem that should not happen)

Verified reviewApartment was nice, spacious, super clean and simple yet fully functional including the kitchenette with stove, fridge and coffee machine. This is newly renovated building and everything felt nice and new like a home. Host speaks english and you will have to call him upon arrival - there is no remote door lock which is not a problem as he lives in the same building. There is an AC which is not very common in Italy. Bathroom was sparkling clean and the host was available for any questions. For late dinner he recommended Trattoria Leo (5min walk) where we had nice meal as late as 10pm (closes at 11:30pm). Apartment is just 15min drive from Terminal 1 Malpensa Airport and it was super convenient for us since we drove in all the way from Madonna Di Campiglio evening before the flight next morning. this place can accommodate maybe even 5people (Queen, Twin and Queen Sleeper Sofa Bed) you can park overnight in one of the surrounding streets free of charge.
Consider changing at least some of the lights (bedroom?) from bright white LED 5,000K to more yellowish tone 2,700K as these bright white LEDs are not the best to be looking at before sleep.

Verified reviewThe host is judgmental with his perception. My brother in law came to drop me at the place and he didn't even take a minute to judge and told only 1 person can stay. That's bit annoying.

Verified reviewEverything was amazing! Wonderful apartament, so clean and comfortable. The owner was very nice and helpful. Just 10 min from the airport, so great if you just arrive or you are leaving soon. But also very nice if you don’t want to leave in the middle of Milan and your prefer something quiet and relax. We loved it.

Verified reviewBeautiful apartment, it has a little fridge, cooking utensils, hairdryer and a balcony. The owner is very friendly and kind, he came the next morning with croissants! The apartment is located in a comfortable position, has a public parking nearby (open from 5 am to 11 pm) and also the supermarket - which is open 24/7 - is 5 minutes away by car.
