How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Also got complimentary facial and a wine as a gift. I also booked a neck and back massage that was absolutely divine. Will definitely be coming back. It was worth every penny spend.

we were disappointed that the restaurant was closed instead replaced by an aperitif jazz evening . The finger food consisted of mostly breads and fried food - not what one would expect from a fine dining restaurant
Thank you for honoring us with your presence and for taking the time to share your thoughts. However, upon reading your notes, we wondered whether perhaps you arrived at the beginning of the evening and didn’t stay long? After the initial crostini with various sauces and a few vegetable fritters from our vegetable garden, we continuously served a variety of dishes—penne, ravioli, risottos, lamb, amberjack, cod, mini burgers, and more that I can’t quite recall—ending with gourmet desserts. Each dish was offered to guests at least three different times throughout the evening, to ensure that even those arriving later could enjoy the full tasting experience. We aimed to create an evening that was a little different from the usual, with a beautiful live jazz trio, complementing our signature gourmet style. I must say, the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, despite our initial plan to host the event near our panoramic pool being changed at the last minute due to weather, leading us to opt for our pergola instead. We truly hope to welcome you again soon and offer an even more memorable experience. See you soon!

Verified reviewOur two night stay here was perfect. The location, room, staff, breakfast & pool area were all exceptional. Plentiful sun loungers.
The only negative, as such, was the gym area. It is pictured indoors, but was in fact outdoors in a glassed area making it even warmer than the 30+ degree temperatures. There was fresh fruit water, but no air conditioning, fan, gym towels or cleaning facilities to wipe after use. Otherwise, would have been 10/10 stay! Please note, this is just a minor issue - because the outdoor view & facilities of the gym were otherwise exceptional.

Our gym is “indoor” in the sense that it’s housed within a bioclimatic pergola offering a breathtaking view, perhaps the most stunning in the entire estate. The pergola can be fully closed with glass windows in case of rain or left open if preferred. While it’s not currently air-conditioned, we’re happy to provide extra towels upon request, either at reception or at the Spa, which is just a few steps away. For the upcoming season, we’re excited to introduce our new Pool Bar. It will also be just a few steps from the gym and will offer refreshing drinks, in addition to our detox-infused water, which is already available inside the gym. Moreover, guests already have access to a reusable water bottle that can be refilled at any time, free of charge, at our dispenser located in the restaurant. The dispenser offers microfiltered still and sparkling water, either at room temperature or chilled. We truly hope to welcome you back soon and show you the new Pool Bar and who knows, maybe even a few more surprises. A presto! Gilberto

Unfortunately, certain local regulations prevent us from placing appliances in the bedrooms that could pose a fire or short-circuit risk, such as kettles, irons, or similar devices. We try to compensate for this with our room service and a fast laundry and ironing service. That said, we always strive to stay up to date—not only with regulations, of course, but also with new technological products that could meet our guests’ needs. The views over the Tuscan hills and surrounding vineyards are breathtaking, with golden light and rolling landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s hard to imagine a more magical setting. The atmosphere is one of peaceful elegance. Whether walking through the gardens, relaxing by the pool, or enjoying a quiet moment under the trees, there’s a sense of stillness that feels both grounding and luxurious. It’s a place where time slows down – in the best possible way. The team at Locanda Le Piazze deserves the highest praise. The staff were exceptionally warm, professional, and always went the extra mile with a genuine smile. There’s a special kind of hospitality here – a perfect blend of attentiveness and heart that made us feel truly welcome from the very first moment. Verified reviewWe loved the location – nestled in the Tuscan hills, it was the perfect place to relax and disconnect, with breathtaking views all around. The staff were incredibly attentive – special thanks to Dario for the warm welcome. Locanda Le Piazze is just a 15-minute drive from Castellina in Chianti, a charming village full of local restaurants, and ideally placed for exploring the Chianti region, Siena, and beyond. Returning to the hotel’s swimming pool after our day trips was a real treat. We didn’t have time to use the gym or book the spa, but we had breakfast at the hotel every day – it was varied and tasty, with lovely views of the garden and hills. Our room stayed cool thanks to the AC and ceiling fan, and we slept perfectly even during the hot days of our stay.

The location is absolutely beautiful, we were in awe of the view and of the actual hotel. But best of all was the staff, so helpful and warm they absolutely made our stay. Verified reviewExcellent views from the pool area in particular. Restaurant was very good. Service overall was excellent between restaurant and hotel. The only problem for us was wi-fi. We had an Executive Room where my husband needed to do a bit of remote work including Zoom meetings but the wifi was not reliable so he had to go elsewhere outside our room to do those things.
