How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing I didn't like.
A gem in Colico. Very friendly staff, lovely clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Very quiet yet close to great restaurants and the lake. Highly recommend it.

The room + bathroom were beautiful (as in the pictures). We were upgraded, so had a quiet room upstairs. As there was a heatwave, we appreciated the air con in the room. Lunch before leaving and the courtyard location outside were excellent. The host, Barbara, was charming.

Everything! Staff were all lovely. The bedroom was very clean, attractive and comfortable, and quiet at night. The breakfast was delicious. Only 5 minutes walk to the railway station. Would highly recommend.

we would improve some processes in serving breakfast and dinner was also not worth 10 points, but the accommodation was great
sensitively renovated building, simply but well-furnished rooms, our room was also perfectly quit, comfortable beds. breakfast is not only sweet, you can choose from different types of eggs, toast, cold cuts. we could leave the bikes in the garden house in the courtyard of the restaurant and they were safe there

Since our room was in the lobby, it was loud, but the staff warned us of that beforehand we arrived.
The location was convenient to the train station. The room was very nice and clean.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and full of character and we had such a lovely time. The room we stayed in was gorgeous, stylish and light with a view over the garden. The staff were so helpful, kind and accommodating to our needs. The food is incredible, both the evening meal and breakfast, which is a cold buffet with hot food cooked to order included in the price. We were given such a warm welcome and a packet of biscuits as a souvenir! Colico itself is such a little known and beautiful place with walks nearby and views of both the lake and snow capped mountains. Thank you so much. We would love to come again!

If we had to say anything - There were not enough pancakes at breakfast and it felt rude to ask for more There are reserved parking spaces but these filled up fast!
There was a separate kids room off of our bedroom and a balcony so this felt super spacious!! It was only a short walk to the harbour. The facilities were clean and bright and the room had air con (decent air con at that) the staff were lovely and helpful

Everything was great at Locanda Capolago starting off from its location, to the impeccable state of the rooms, to the superb breakfast and outstanding restaurant and to the most courteous of staff. Starting from the location, it’s great because it’s not in the heavily touristic areas of Bellagio, Meneggio and Varenna which makes it quieter. Being further north we could enjoy the beauty of the lake and the mountains alike. Having a car makes the beautiful towns peppering the lake all within reach so Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and others were all within reach. The rooms are highly finished and beautifully decorated. They are cleaned every single day. Toiletries are provided and towels are changed every single day. The breakfast was truly outstanding. They not only provide a buffet but they give you a menu to choose your own breakfast which they prepare on the spot. The restaurant is amazing. We are there twice and we were not disappointed. No wonder it was always fully booked for dinner. And the staff were ever so helpful and attended to all of our needs. And a very sweet gesture was seeing us off with a small complimentary bag of biscuits. Little things that go a long way. Everything was top notch.

The walls were very thin; no plant-based milk at the restaurant
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Cute rooms in an old-fashioned style with modern facilities. The location was amazing, close to the station and also the beach. Very good breakfast.
