Room was clean but air felt dusty. It was not so pleasant to breath. Also one of the other guests smoked which made situation worse. I have headaches from smoke so night sleep was ruined. Air conditioner worked but it was really loud and not that effective. You can hear other guests in the hall walking back and forth clearly. I did not feel privacy because of it.

Centrally located. Shared terrace with a view. Ability to check in early and leave bags after check out. Clean sheets and towels. Helpful staff. Decent value for the money.

Small room, didn’t bother us but might bother others. Also, be forewarned that there are A LOT of steps so pack accordingly if you stay here.

Beautiful historic property in the heart of Venice. The room was great & the windows looking out over the rooftops was beautiful. No true complaints about our stay!

The beds and pillows were a bit firm, but since we only stayed for one night, it was manageable.

The accommodation is located in a quieter side street just a short walk from Venice’s main attractions. St. Mark’s Square is only 2 minutes away, and the Rialto Bridge about 10 minutes. The entrance to the building works via a code lock, which is provided to you in advance. The reception (open from 8 AM to 2 PM) is on the 3rd floor (no elevator – therefore not very suitable for tourists with large or heavy luggage), where most of the rooms are also located. The rooms are very nice and tastefully decorated in Venetian style, complemented by a modern, well-designed bathroom. The room includes functional air conditioning and a minibar. The slightly uneven floors are more of a charming feature than an inconvenience. Although the accommodation is practically in the very center of Venice, the rooms remain completely quiet both during the day and at night. A wonderful bonus is the rooftop terrace on the 4th floor, where you can enjoy excellent free coffee (from 8 AM to 2 PM) along with a stunning view over the rooftops of the surrounding houses. You can also see a number of cultural landmarks, including the Campanile di San Marco and the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute.

There wasn’t anything to dislike really, just a few niggles if you’re used to a hotel, this isn’t one. The banisters were wobbly so watch for that, our ten year old tends to lean, so we kept him away from those! The keys are super heavy and it’s possible to lock yourself out of both your room and your bathroom if you don’t take them both with you, as I did, so carrying your things to the bathroom also meant juggling the two weighty brass key rings. You only forget once though, and if you do it after 2pm there’s nobody to get you back in! Doubt this is the case in the doubles downstairs but both us and the family next to us did the same!

Absolutely loved the attic room! Like something from a story book. Then to discover it was Byron’s house was an added bonus. Just loved the Venetian entrance, old staircase then sloping ceilings. Our little windows overlooking the rooftops and the roof terrace facing the bell tower. The quirky little breakfast room and our bathroom were also full of character. We didn’t see much staff but the lady on reception was super kind, even when I shut our key in the bathroom by mistake. Sorry! Nice to have the coffee machine on our floor and sit outside with our drinks.

The location is excellent, just a short walk from San Marco Square, making it ideal for exploring Venice. While the entrance lobby to the building feels a bit uninviting at first, the overall impression improves as you head upstairs. Be aware that there’s no lift, so you'll need to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. The room was spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of four. A kettle was provided in the room, and there was a coffee machine available in the shared dining area, though only usable during breakfast hours. Note that breakfast itself is not offered. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

The windows have no mosquito nets, of which there are quite a lot. Poor sound insulation from the hallway, from where you could hear all the steps of the other guests.

Location, possibility of using the shared terrace, pleasant and helpful staff, possibility of storing luggage before and after accommodation.

Location was perfect and the staff was helpful. The only down side is that the room is on the 4th floor and there was no elevator. We knew this and we were fine with that, but be aware if you have a lot of luggage

Hidden gem in the heart of Venice

Reception hours are quite limited (10.30-2 pm). Location is top floor without elevator (typical historical building).

Hidden on a narrow side street off St Mark's Square, this B&B had apartments on the 3rd and 4th floors of an ancient Venetian apartment building. The rooms were small but well equipped and newly renovated, with air conditioning. There's a communal small terrace on the top with views of the Square / Campanile and surrounding rooftops and there's complementary coffee <3 . Staff was helpful when we requested an extra pillow, they provided it at no extra charge.

There is no reception in the afternoon. Wifi was not working and there was no hot water (which was not a problem because it was warm outside). However, we had to wait until the morning after when we were leaving to solve both problems.

Location was incredible and the hotel is very clean.

There was a slight smell of humidity in the room. Maybe that is completely normal in such old houses. Nothing serious but coming from a country where humidity in houses often equal mold it was just a little off-putting.

The location is amazing, right in the centre. The decor is lovely and whimsical. The staff we met was super friendly and helpful. The bed was good and the room very cosy.

I would love to have fly screens in front of every bedroom on my holiday so that the mosquitoes don’t get me. It wasn’t too bad though

The location was wonderful. Beautiful little veranda overlooking the rooftops. I discovered that lord Byron stayed there for over a year. The bedroom floor sloped quite a bit. It took some time to get used to it.

Several rooms shared the same bathroom and shower, so we ended up needing to wait until the other families were done before getting ready. Also, the walls were extremely thin so we were woken both when the some people arrived home at 1am and again when others got up at 7am.

Very old building, gives a real ancient city vibe. Room was clean.
