Great breakfast, lots of fruit and pane dolce. Really Italian. Very nice host. Location just within the walls made it a perfect spot because it was a short walk from the parking place outside the walls and everything within the walls is easily accessible by foot.

The host was very kind and attentive. The hotel was in a perfect location. Rooms were basic but functional and had all of the necessary amenities.

The beds were quite close together in some rooms so there was not a lot of space to move around. The building is quite old and sometimes got a bit cold during the night.

Location was good, close to the train station.

Very basic facilities, old and not similar to what was pictured in the photos. Heating was mentioned as being included, however when the host was asked if it could be turned on, we were told that it couldn’t be used due to certain ‘city rules’ and we were offered an extra blanket instead. Heating was later turned on however shut off again at night by the host without asking us. Room was connected to the communal dining area which was noisy. Host was also present in the dining area until late in the evening chatting to a friend which was less than ideal given the walls were thin. Host was very lovely and friendly man, but overall very expensive and not a comfortable experience.

    Great location in beautiful town.

Light of the corridor would light the room. Normal noises of the kitchen would be heard in the room.

It was very central but that meant that it was also very noisy (unable to close windows as so hot).

It was so hot that it was impossible to sleep.

It's location. Friendly owner. Would definitely stay there again.

The shower was semi warm and the rose didn't stay in place. Whilst there was breakfast in the price the necessary items weren't always available at the time agreed. A bit better organisation would easily fix that. All in all though the breakfast was adequate.

The room was clean and presentable, fantastic location and felt safe. Very thankful for the fan in the room as it was hot! Best of all was Claudio the owner, who was lovely, he was attentive and really helped us out when we needed to stay 2 more nights at short notice. He went above and beyond to help us even find train times to our next stop. We were upset to leave! But can’t wait to return!

The location was actually very perfect for what I was doing in Lucca. That was the good thing about the property.

It was non-staffed, no air conditioning, poorly lit, in an alley with drunken yelling people until 4am. I didn't feel particularly safe. There was no personal interaction. I just got a text giving me instructions on how to find a hidden key (which took me a little while). There were no fans and so it was just unbearably hot. The windows are old and don't shut. I was happy I eventually found the place in a building with many apartments and that there were at least 3 locked doors between me and the outside world. The person said that I should get breakfast somewhere else even though I paid for the breakfast there. He said he would give me another hotel recommendation but he never did. All communications were through Whatsapp. He was pleasant but I have no idea who he was and never met him. I paid an extra 20 Euro for the breakfast but there was just a room with 3 or 4 small packaged pastries and what looked like a dormitory of old, used water bottles and a station to make your own coffee. The pictures and reviews made this place look decent but it cost me almost 200 euro and it was barely a 2 star hotel. Very scary and not super clean.

it wasn’t too far a walk from the train station

checking in was not so easy . there are 2 stairs to go up which was kinda ok - however the ‘private’ bathroom was down the hallway from the room . The room was fine -2single beds pushed together to make a double bed - the breakfast was set up but the bread and coffee was not there or perhaps in another spot -I just went to a cafe down on the street for a coffee . I didn’t see one person until just as I was checking out and he was on the phone and waved as I went out the door . The staff are distant and remote .it’s all done via what’s app messaging . It would help and be much better if someone was there to greet you when you got there .

    location

it was older, nothing like the pictures, our room was off the kitchen / check in room and at night the night life outside the window went until 2:00am and sleeping was impossible without earplugs and listening to white noise. Breakfast was not desirable

The location was good. Inside the wall and close to the train station.

Did not eat the breakfast. Rotten fruit, cereal but no milk or bowls, toaster but no bread or condiments and dry croissants. Beds were uncomfortable. Shower leaked all over the floor. Broken glass on floor. Did not look like photos on line at all.

    Location OK. Shower OK.

Very noisy. Breakfast actually non-existent. Couldn't lock door from the inside. Clean enough but all the fittings were 'tired' - toilet seat was broken, shutters only shut when trailing TV aerial was removed, double bed was 2 singles pushed together, cup so badly cracked it leaked.
