The dinner, although it was excellent, was a bit expensive.

A beautiful, quiet and intimate place facing a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Poets, and on clear days even the snow-capped Alps. Perfect for relaxing or for day trips in the area. If you wish to visit the villages of the Cinque Terre, you can drive 10 minutes and park near the La Spezia train station, from where trains depart every few minutes — just 7 minutes to the first village. The location is also ideal for exploring the villages and towns around the Gulf of Poets.

Hotel is a bit out of the way...so be prepared, if you not have a car, to take the shuttle to La Spezia. It worked out well for us, but just be prepared.

The view of La Spezia and the harbor below was spectacular. Rooms are large with balconies that over look the city and harbor. The restaurant was classy and offered a wonderful dinner menu. The food was well prepared and delicious. Breakfast was all that we could hope for! They have a beautiful infinity pool that you can take the view in from as well.

Best place we stayed in Italy! Amazing views over La Spezia, fantastic restaurant and really friendly staff. Every little touch has been thought of in the rooms and all of the staff went out of their way to help us during our stay.

Great, elevated spot to enjoy La Spezia without the industry on your doorstep, but with the view from afar. Very comfortable accommodation and lovely, friendly staff. Special mentions for Suzanna on the breakfast in the morning and Valentino at dinner in the evening. Beautiful location, best with a car, and a lovely hotel to return to after a busy day walking around the Cinque Terre.

You need a car to get up there or a taxi, it’s about a 45minute walk uphill from La Spezia. No vegeterian options for dinner, all dishes are meat or fish. Breakfast was great though.

unique location, great view over the entire bay of la spezia, sunrise like on a postcard. staff at breakfast, bar, restaurant, cleaning and desk are all equally friendly. relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. breakfast was great, and we highly appreciated the willingness to serve vegetarian dishes at dinner, especially coocked for us. the taxi service (for a fee) to porto venere and la spezia is very nice, so we had to take the adventure of driving the narrow access road less often. had a very pleasant stay!

The only drawbacks were the lack of elevators so one has to tote luggage up and down stairs. The hotel is some distance from the town but shuttle service (reservations required) is provided at 9 euros per person.

Valentina and Alfred, the owners, could not have been nicer or more helpful. The rooms were well appointed with amazing views from the hilltop looking out over the bay. The food in the hotel restaurant was outstanding.

Not much to say, maybe that it’s a bit remote so in terms of dinner options it’s a bit limited but that’s also nice as it means it’s very quiet and secluded!

The only slight niggle was the mosquitoes! But we were provided with a mosquito repellent in our room.

An absolutely amazing view, a fabulous infinity pool and delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Valentino, in the restaurant, looked after us extremely well at night, and Susannah was wonderful serving buffet breakfast and lunch options on 2 of the days when we stayed at the hotel for lunch. The hotel also provide a shuttle bus, at a cost per person, to go down to La Spezia and back (and other areas if required).
