How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was perfect.
We had a wonderful stay at Le Stanze di Santa Croce. The location is great and the host is very kind and helpful. The breakfast was also very tasty.

Bed was very shaky and felt like it might break under any pressure. Had lots of mosquitoes which ruined my first night quality.
Amazing kind host. Terrace (shared) with tabletop games, complimentary liquor and cookies. Great bathroom, better shower experience than at my home. Location is good.

The location is a far walk from the center but accessible by bus.
The host was very kind and accomadating. The room was very comfortable and great for the night we stayed. Although they offer free snacks and drinks in the common room, they also give you a voucher for free breakfast at a nearby cafe which was very good.

Bathroom was a little odd, overall clean but shower couldve used a good scrubbing. The locks on all the doors were just a bit annoying, but I am nitpicking here bc it was really a wonderful stay.
The host was very sweet and helpful! She spoke with us several times and had great recommendations for the area. If you’re looking for a quaint but funky place to stay this was perfect and had all the necessities and then some. Breakfast at the cafe just a very quick walk away was amazing! The location is incredibly convenient, easy to walk everywhrre and there is a bus stop less than 5 mins away. Even the major train station is less than 20 min walk if you’re spry. Truly loved our stay!

the room was smaller than expected with a low ceiling, making us bump our head at the ceiling several times a day. the were also stairs outside and inside the room, and no elevator, making it a bit difficult to get the suitcase all the way up in the first place.
the host was very kind and informative. we communicated via mail, and she answered every question I presented with patients and in full length. she helped us with transportation info and even recommended some restaurants. both the room and the bathroom were very clean and everything worked perfectly, and the bed and the pillows were extremely comfortable. for breakfast we got coupons for a local Cafe only 1 minute from our room, and were positively surprised with our options (which included pastries, coffee and fresh juice). the host also recommended some of the pastries and she absolutely nailed it - the pistachio and ricotta were delicious.

Check-in had some slight confusion and our door card stopped working early.
Beautiful space with a great bathroom that appeared to have been updated recently. A/C worked out great in bedroom. Location was perfect and there was much to do in the near area.

It was quite noisy during the night with other guests & people passing by outside, so we didnt sleep great.

Excellent venue. Not many facilities but other things make up for it. The breakfast is not at the hotel but at the nearby cafe but it had some of the best croissants I ever had. Loved the location of the hotel as well.

One minute dislike is not about the place. It's more of the convenience of going around Florence. It's not easy to look for tabacchi to get bus tickets.
The place is clean, quiet and Cristy was very attentive and was always following up with us. And our visit includes a voucher for breakfast which is just around the corner by Basilica of Santa Croce. And location was great too. The reason why I gave a 9/10 coz we only stayed there for 2 nights and 1 full day.

excellent location, near the centre but within a beautiful, characterful local neighbourhood. wonderful deal with a local bar / cafe for breakfast (great pastries!), excellent facilities to use freely (coffee area, kitchen area - no cooking butt fridge / freezer, small details like a box of useful items. wonderful hosts. i can’t tate this B&B highly enough.

Noise from outside.
The location is good 2 mins walking from Santa croce basilica. The host is so helpful and kind. Good value for money. The neighborhood is safe to walk at night.
