Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIn general they can do a bit better with the breakfast, asking for milk every morning felt a bit weird (also it was never the quantity needed for a cereal breakfast). I find Naples people quite charming and very hospitable but here I struggled with that, it always felt like I am imposing on the staff.
Unique place really, reminder of a bygone era of Naples. It has its charm, it is easily accessible as there is a metro station quite close and you can also just walk directly to the port and the center. So many good restaurants and bars around as well if you wanna feel the real Naples.

Great location. Everything is quite close. Ancient and historic building. Culture shock a bit in positive meaning.

United KingdomThe bathroom needs some work doing to it in terms of new tiles etc, it has a lot of mould build up. Also could use a kettle not necessarily in the bedroom but in the dining area where you have breakfast so that once your back after a long day you could help yourself. Also would encourage the hotel to have an iron as this would be very handy to.
The hotel is very outdated but fits in with how you imagine an old style Italian hotel to be. If you’re after something rustic and old then it’s perfect.

United KingdomThe stairs leading up to the entrance. These seemed to be at a an angle that seemed you were always having to lean forward to continue going up steps. Maybe they are very used.

United KingdomEntrance is 2 long flights up with no lift and no porter. Stairs are in a courtyard dilapidated in that Italian way and could be cleaner (to be fair, this is not the hotel’s responsibility). Our room was just opposite the tiny reception and the front door so you could hear the phone and door buzzing and hotel guests coming in (there aren’t many rooms so it’s not so bad), plus mopeds revving in the early morning in the courtyard as it’s a residential building. Rooms smelt like bathrooms when you entered them and are a bit dark at night but that is the beauty of traditional lighting. We thought the area was a bit sketchy (read blogs about different areas within the Centro storico district of Naples before you make up your mind; we didn’t) but the other guests did not seem to share our views so it’s purely personal. If you’re sensitive like us, leave the building and turn right so you get to the main road rather then go left, and it’s fine. You need to take the small taxis to get down the road to the hotel, as the big ones don’t fit- tell the drivers it’s on via Stella and they will know this.
Lovely and super helpful staff, very responsive on WhatsApp. Good sized traditional rooms and bathrooms with high ceilings, cleaned daily. Pretty dining/sitting room for breakfast with painted ceiling where you can share tips, stories and a social breakfast with other guests at the long dining table.

United KingdomEntry to the hotel could have been made clearer. It's not obvious that there is a hotel at the location. There is a small placard at a metal gate on a back street. You need to press button to gain entry through metal gate and then walk up 2 flights of stairs to find the hotel entrance.
Small hotel, very clean and lovely big rooms. Very nice croissants for breakfast. A big contrast to the entrance which is off a back street through a metal gate and then up 2 floors in a dystopian courtyard.

United KingdomNo negatives. Look out for the tiny label under the entry buttons that indicates which number to press to gain access.
Breakfast was excellent with superb vanilla cream and jam croissants baked that morning. Many Naples hotels offer just a voucher for a coffee and some bread at a local cafe so it was nice to have it served in the magnificent dining room with a 250 year old painted ceiling. Roberto is a very engaging and entertaining individual who was very attentive to our needs and insisted on us trying his home brewed limoncello (which was excellent) alongside his home made jams.
