How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I arrived late to the city, my train arrived at 11pm. I was glad to find this place with late check in, until 12. I hurried up to get this place before 12. I arrived around 23:55. They didn't open the front door for me, didn't answer messages and phone calls. I stayed next to their door in the cold with heavy luggage until 1am, and then I understood that I'm not going to get my room there. Be careful.

Verified reviewThis was a separate single room on the ground floor with access using a code. It was very convenient (no need for keys and well-located). The room was very spacious and even had a small “kitchenette” and a small dining table. It was also well maintained and comfortable. (I think they have a separate property with several rooms in an apartment building, but I got—I didn’t ask for it, and didn’t even know such a thing existed—this room off on its own.)
I didn’t mind it much because I am an easy sleeper, but being on the ground floor and the door opening directly onto the street, it was a bit noisy—you could hear people outside, and especially people going in and out of the nearby apartments. If this is an issue for you, you may want to check when you book that you aren’t assigned to the loft.

Verified reviewExtremely clean and great location for walking around the town. We were met promptly at the property and easily found free street parking. All in all it was perfect for our Puglia trip.
There is no lift to 2nd floor. For us it was no problem but just be aware if you struggle with stairs.

he description of my property is very detailed, so if the size of my beds were not suitable for your size you could have chosen other properties, I SPECIFY that my bed has the dimensions of 180 x 190, so very comfortable and not noisy at all! it's a 3 floor with high stairs.

The pillows were weird. Overall nothing specifically was wrong. There was a strong food smell when we arrived that never really dissipated, but they can't be blamed for that I guess.

Thank you for your review, I'm sorry you complain about the low water pressure, in reality we found the shower head in your room in the slow position so with a weak water jet, this is a function that the guest for which "you" regulates independently during the shower, as well as the height function, rather than that of the water temperature, furthermore upon your arrival you found a welcome in the room including drinks, the word "welcome" itself means that you find it upon your arrival, during your stay you have a large fridge that you can refill according to your needs. Verified reviewThe room was delightful, situated on the corner of the property with two windows on adjacent faces of the building. It was spacious and well appointed. Le Marinelle was in a very good location, being very close to the port in the historic part of Trani. The person checking us in was very helpful and friendly.
It was a little difficult to find the property as the streets thereabouts were not well signed. As with many B&B type properties, it was not amazingly easy to make contact for check in. It is often assumed that everyone nowadays has a smartphone which is always contactable. If you are travelling by public transport over a period of days, it is not always possible to check for messages from the property, for example

Bad smell in bathroom. Kitchen not adequately equipped. Non-functioning dishwasher and no laundry detergent. Not enough cooking pots and utensils.
Good evening, I am replying to your review only out of respect for the other guests who read and do not know what happened during your stay in my facility. After your check out I was forced to report to booking the disastrous conditions in which you left my facility and everything you broke. The bathroom has windows so if you flush the water every time you go to the bathroom, good rule of thumb, nothing smells, every day that the cleaning lady came to clean, there were objects thrown away in the bathroom for everything and needs done without flushing; I won't go on, but I suggest you go camping next time
