How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Didn’t feel well cared for overall. Good value for the money but could be so much more with a little TLC. would have appreciated a way of making espresso coffee rather than filter coffee- this is Italy!

When we first arrived the location was not easily available on Google maps and we had to call the hotel for more details. It would be really good, if the location could have been shared after the booking.
The parking was free and very safe. We left the car during our stay and used ferries mainly. The location was not too close to the lake, around 20 mins walk, but was okay.

More towels needed in a room and voice isolation + at least shower gel or something would be nice.
Location, friendly stuff, beautiful view, comfortable bed - even for two people. Very nice and cozy garden.

Lovely staff, convenient kitchen with free tea for visitors to use. Cute peaceful garden out the front, which was so nice to eat our dinners in. When you book they send you specific directions to reach it from the Menaggio port which is a lot more direct than the google maps route lol.

Very small bathroom without any option to hang your towel or shampoo.The toilet also inside which makes this space even harder to move around. No hangers for clothes and no bar to support the hangers.Bed very uncomfortable because of the cheap mattress, I could feel the bed frame metal under the mattress.I couldn't sleep very well.
The owner was very open and honest. Also 5 min away is a restaurant-pizza-bar with very good prices and vouchers.Location is 5min walk to ferry bot which goes Bellagio and other locations.Parking available at the property location and the room itself wasn't bad at all, clean sheets and spacious room.The view was amazing .

Was a bit of a walk up the hill which was a challenge with suitcases and the room was a bit tight but otherwise the hostel itself was good.
The room was perfect for what we needed!The staff were extremely lovely and accommodating. Could see the a small part of the lake from our room which was nice!

The mattress was soft and not very comfortable, but ok for a short stay. Once again, for this price I won't complain 😉😃

Breakfast was very basic. Linens need replaced.

lack of air condition especially during the night was a problem. Rooms were not renovates since wile Beds with old mattresses were not really comfortable.
Prefect location with view on the Como lake. Acceptable compromise to the cost you spend for a room. Nice and friendly stuff. Restaurant which was serving god food for dinners - with the lake view from terrace - can be recommended.

The room is very spacious if you are trying to save money and have a family definitely an option considering. The only one thing is the restroom is very small. The toilet had the shower head right above it in the same space. Hard to manage.
We were received by Thiago and he was very attentive. We can’t thank him enough for helping us with transportation to the ferry station early in the morning. We had no idea not many taxis or ubers work in the morning if you are planning to leave before 8 am plan in advance. We were lucky to have Thiago who saved our day.

It is announced that they serve breakfast from 08:00 till 10:00. But at 08:30 it was not served. They manage to do it at 08:45. Furnitures in the room are really outdated.
The location is great if you are making Greenway del Lago di Como. It is around 15,20 minutes walk from the center of Menaggio(trough the shortcut - ask the staff). There is a free parking that you can use. The staff was really polite.

Caught the bus from Como stn, and although the bus stop is close to the location of the stay, there is an uphill climb and steep road to the lodge. With heavy suitcases we really struggled to carry our stuff there and back and it's unreasonable to call a taxi for the distance. It would be good to provide a shuttle or a trolley to assist guests in the future as i would not do that again.
Welcoming and kind staff. The room was spacious and included a basin which provided convenience. Clean and maintained shared bathrooms. Breakfast is adequate for a little bite.

If you want to check in before 5pm you must walk to a diffrent location, the house outside and the garden weren’t in a good condition.
It was on the cheaper side in lake como, the breakfast was nice and the views from the top floor were good.

Toilet door was broken and only 1 shower had a head. Recommend for people that don't mind walking to get to the lodge.
Great value for money. A little breakfast in the morning, big room with a sink and cupboards. Staff were helpful and friendly. Better than what people have previously said in reviews. A nice view from the room.

The blankets very not so nice.
Great staff! Very helpful, warm and understanding! The location is amazing. Breakfast is good. Free parking available! There is also free drink coupons if you buy food in their restaurant.

there was one shower that didn't work properly, and one of our light fixtures was broken. The only other thing was that while signposts from the main hostel to the peace lodge were fine, there were no signposts from the peace lodge to the main hostel, which made it a bit tricky to find! You can always call the main hostel and ask though!
the staff were all so lovely, and the room and facilities were such good value for what we paid!
